Korea Spring Outfits

Monday, April 25, 2016

Unlike my Japan trip, I miraculously brought a camera in Korea. I think getting a 2nd-hand camera is one of the best decisions I made, it inspired me to take better pictures, and even shoot some OOTDs!

Other than the new camera, I also owe my Korea travel buddies @tracyayson and @paultheprguy for being masipag in taking my pictures, so thank you! Haha! Sharing the spring outfits I came up with for this 8-day vacation.

From my experience last year, Spring can be such a bipolar season. We came in during transition period, so we expected that it's still very cold. I packed a good variety of clothing for heavy and light layering, just to be sure.

I also brought only two pairs shoes for this trip: A pair of gray and a pair of white sneakers, both from Skechers. A week before the trip, I posted a survey on Facebook to find out what kind of shoes my friends prefer when they travel. Majority replied that they love Skechers sneakers, which I can now attest to!

My favorite is this white pair na madaling bagayan, and can endure hours of walking because of its memory foam technology.

Fitting thick coats in limited baggage space can be a challenge, so I notoriously repeated the two coats that I brought. I have the white coat and pale pink coat, since both are very "in season". My theme for this trip goes around pastels and whites - sort of to match the Pantone color of the year, and also the cherry blossoms season.

Wearing the white H&M coat, which I bought on-sale for only Php 700! Paired it with pink pants, nude midi skirt, and ripped jeans:

Another last-minute purchase: A pale pink coat from GoBuy.com.ph. This piece went well with whites, grays, and pinks.

I also packed other jackets and blazers, but they weren't enough to keep me warm (especially at night, when it's more windy). Every morning, we check our Accuweather app for the day's temperature and weather, where we based our outfit for the day. Most of the days that we were in Korea, it was clear and cloudy, but we had a few rainy nights as well.

Wearing sweater + white bomber jacket from Stradivarius during our Everland day:

Pale blue blazer, also from Stradivarius, for our DMZ tour:

During our last days, hindi na super lamig so I just wore sweaters and light jackets. Totoro teal sweater from Dongdaemun market:

Light pink jacket from Penshoppe:

While packing, I tried putting together per-day outfits to avoid overpacking, but I wasn't strict on wearing them as-is. I modified the outfit as I went along... Depends on my mood, our itinerary, and of course the temperature / weather forecast.

While most of my innerwear are from Uniqlo, I also get my stylish wardrobe essentials from Mango, which is now also available online at Zalora Philippines! They have cotton shirts, polo, trousers, sweaters, and jeans that you can use for layering. I also bought my white Skechers in Zalora, hehe!

Toss in a hat, 2 light bags (cross-body and backpack), neutral lipstick, and your preferred accessories, and you are good to go!

I only had this slim gold watch with brown strap from Veloci as my everyday accessory:

My go-to roomy leather bag during the trip, from NiQua:

You won't always see me in pastels, most especially pinks! But Spring and Korea inspired me so much that I went out of my usual color palette. I miss traveling in general, and just looking forward to Japan in June! Anong season kaya yun, and if you have tips, please do comment below! Mabuti nalang ang daming seat sales and very G na friends, hehe.

    1. Thank you! :) For lamigin, it's best to use Uniqlo's heattech underneath pa your normal top or sweater. First week of april malamig pa talaga especially at night! :)

    2. Thanks for the advice Ana :) How about pants? Nag 2 layers ka din ba? like legging inside the pants? My cousin wants to lend me her short uggs kasi daw lamigin ako, have you seen some wearing boots during your trip? Baka kasi OA na ako pag ng uggs pa ako ska ang laki pa sa baggage. Sorry daming tanong, gusto ko kasi prepared na para sulit ang time kesa dun pa ako mamili pa ako dun. Seeing your pics made me realize I should prepare sa pagcapture ng moments. Nakakainlove talaga ang Spring Season <3 Thank again Ana. :) -kriz

    3. Hmm.. for the pants, ako ok na na yun na.. But if super lamigin ka talaga baka maganda may suot na heattech leggings pa underneath. Uggs naman ok lang din siguro, though nag sneakers lang ako. Meron naman iba wearing uggs but konti nalang coz di na winter sa kanila. :) Pero kung mag uggs ka man o hindi di sila masyado mapansin or judgmental sa outfit! :) Kaya masaya hahaha.. Or bring ka rin more socks than usual mo. :) And true yan mahirap na mapagastos!!!
