My Lips But Better (MLBB)

Saturday, June 16, 2018

Confession time! I am not a lipstick person, sadly! Haha! 👄

With the many colors, brands, and finishes coming out lately, it's so sad that I cannot maximize this wonderful makeup.

I used to be a red or dark lip girl, but recently I like my looks to be more simple. Nice straight brows, red cheeks, glowing skin are my go-tos. But since I just came from consecutive beauty events where they give out lippies, I decided to at least give them a chance and search for a new "everyday lipstick" that may replace my Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Rose Brown! It's my all-time favorite neutral shade (or MLBB), but it's mahalia at Php 1600!

Anyway, here are the four on my to-try list:

Club Clio Rouge Heel Velvet in Good Mauve #10

This is definitely the closest color to my old favorite Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Rose Brown. I love how it feels on my lips, very lightweight as if I have no lipstick on! Packaging is also super pretty where you need to click before pulling out the lipstick tube. It is also shaped like the heels of a pumps, thus the product name. 👠 It might look matte because of the packaging, but it is actually not drying and felt more velvety on the lips.

I got this during the Club Clio x Edward Avila event in SM Makati a few weeks ago. Aside from this shade, they have a lot of Rouge Heel Velvet in pinks and corals. This is the most "wearable" in my standard. During the event, the popular Youtuber conducted a makeup demo with new and classic Club Clio products. I like his tip on using cotton buds to soften the sides of the lips after applying the Rouge Heel Velvet so you don't have a SOLID color applied on your lips if that's also not your style. We also had the chance to talk and take photos with Eddie after the event, where I was able to tell him that I really love his style! Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity Club Clio!

Mark by Avon Epic Lip Lipstick in Wink of Pink E14

Mark by Avon is the newest Philippine release of the brand during their 40th anniversary. I first learned about this through Raiza Contawi who went all the way to Shanghai to learn more about the brand and the line. I watched all her China vlogs and Avon tutorials!

They say that Mark by Avon is the first lipstick with primer, and it is more moisturizing and long wearing than other Avon lippies. This tube looks nude-pink so I thought it might be the new everyday lippie for me, but when swiped you will see that it is a bit light and sheer with a little sparkle on my skin.

Got this lipstick during the Amazing Avon celebration and trade fair at the World Trade Center a few weeks ago. Congrats on your 40 years of empowering women and giving importance to all your Avon Reps! Aside from Mark, we were also introduced to Kitchen Magik and Mars Ravelo Pinoy Komiks Heroes--just some of the new lines from Avon! We played games and won loot bags while also learning about the brand and their different high quality products.

Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon Tinted Lip Balm in Rose Romance

Third lippie is another brand that I recently just discovered because of the SM Beauty Playground event. During the event, we went to the different participating brands to play and win random makeup and skincare products--some full size some sample sizes.

This Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon Tinted Lip Balm is just one of the full-sized stuff we got that day. It looks like the Bobbi Brown Art Stick, but retractable instead of needing to use a sharpener so definitely more convenient. Shade looks neutral enough for daily use, though swiping it on my skin I realized that it is again a bit sheer and sparkly. Almost the same balm finish with the Mark By Avon, but just a bit darker.

Sharing some pictures during the SM Beauty Playground event at the SM Makati! We got so competitive to win random prizes, but

Some of the participating brands, thank you very much!

We all went home winners, with huge totes filled with makeup, hair care, and skincare products!

Vaseline Lip Therapy in Rosy Lips

And finally, this one doesn't fall on the lipstick category, but it can be an alternative when you don't want to wear one (we all have those days). Vaseline releases small tubs of their petroleum jelly products, but this time they are really dedicated for the lips calling them the "Lip Therapy". The Rosy Lips variant has a sheer red tone, almost not halata, but I like that it smells good + guarantees to moisturize chap lips. 100% will bring this on my travels!

So here are the four shades swatched once on my lips. What do you think suits me more?

Do you have a set of your own favorite daily lippies? Ones with nice shades, comfortable to wear, and with affordable price? Share to me your list, I am still on the look out!
