A Corner in My Room + Life Updates

Thursday, September 15, 2016

I will be rushing blog posts starting today because next week I'll be going to La Union for seven days.

Ruth: Sure ka? Ako kasi pang out of country na ang ganun!
Me: Actually di din ako sure!

I realized that this will be the looongest local trip that I will be engaging in. It's actually a three-part blog event, and although there are no pressures and I can just say no, I wanted to challenge myself. The introvert in me is making me anxious now, but I am excited for what this trip will bring to me in the coming days.

But before that, here's a little life update! I decided to (finally) dispose my Jurassic Personal Computer to create space for my craft materials:

You all know that my past life involved making jewelries and selling them online, but I never had a creative corner. It's just me, my tools, and my bed - haha! I am guilty of sleeping next to my things, occupying just the right side of my queen-size. :p

Anyway! After exposing myself to Muji website and all our art journaling sessions for Japan In Manila, I thought that it's time to have a desk dedicated to all the art materials I've accumulated through years of trying things and taking random crafts classes (from leather bags sewing, calligraphy, to stamp carving).

I know it's not so bongga, but I know where I place this and that amidst the mish-mash, and that's all that matters for now. It makes me happy and a bit more creative, plus I'm using again some things I forgot that I owned!

Some sticker output that I will share with friends:

Ending with photos from our Japan In Manila session in Quezon City. Almost forgot to post about this, but it's actually one of those tiring but satisfying days!

We visited Kawaii PH's Head Quarters in faraway Tandang Sora for their weekend bazaar, and hoarded so much things as if I am back in Japan again! After a second round and third round and another "last na talaga!", we went out of the store triple the weight when we entered.

We finally settled in a not-so-Japan cafe in Katipunan to make journal pages and trade stickers.

The group's favorites: Stickers from Whimsicute and B-Side Label!

Bought a Hobonichi Mystery Sticker Pack from Kaila of Raibowholic. I am a sucker for these surprises since I was a kid, like Goosebumps' "choose a scare" or getting a random color from a gum ball machine.

Learned that these dresses are made by Kawaii PH's Dolly Kaye herself!

Cute Japanese-style clothes:

Japanese magazines (ViVi!).

They have a sakura tree inside the store!!!

Steal! Bought a second-hand, original Japanese school bag "randoseru" at discounted price! In red!

Sarah and Krissy bought these Super Mario merch:

Hehehe:

Thank you for the very Japan experience, Kawaii PH! Visit their FACEBOOK for future events. I am sure you'll be seeing these faces there, hehehe!
