My Belmont Hotel Manila Experience

Wednesday, November 02, 2016

Some call it "staycation", while others "workation". I'd like to maximize a hotel stay by being able to do both of these: To accomplish so many work-related things, and at the same time, still have the time to relax and enjoy the comforts of a hotel.

I think that's what I was able to experience at the Belmont Hotel Manila during my overnight stay last October 22-23. The 4-star hotel located conveniently near Resorts World Manila and the NAIA Terminal 3 was the perfect host as I prepared for my next-day art workshop gig.

I arrived at the Belmont Hotel Manila in Newport just in time for lunch. I came alone but ate with the other invited group of bloggers - which resulted to interesting conversations. When I went to my room at around 2pm, I can't help but gush over how beautiful it is. The view, the bed, the working table, I felt that Belmont was a good decision for a workation/staycation.

The Room

Welcome to my Corner Deluxe room in Belmont Hotel Manila! Here's a little room tour:

First, you'll pass through the bathroom and cabinet along the hallway. As expected, everything's neat, clean, and organized:

Inside the bathroom: Toilet, sink, shower, clean towels, and Belmont's signature bathroom amenities:

Didn't bring anything with me, they have all the essentials I needed:

Belmont's room is more intimate and cozy. Here's my very comfortable queen bed with side lamps and sockets for charging the gadgets:

Ahhh... And two views of the city. Took lots of photos because of the good lighting! Haha!

Amenities include a 32" flat-screen TV, WiFi, coffee and tea, small ref, personal safe, phone, bathrobe and slippers, hair dryer, and a long executive writing desk where I spent most of the afternoon:

I like that they have a USB port for charging!

My work table, where I practiced journaling and my talk points for the workshop:

Didn't noticed the time till I got a text to head down for dinner:
Dining and Events

During our stay, we had all our meals at Cafe Belmont, where you can avail either the a la carte or the buffet options. They also have Meeting Rooms that can accommodate from 18 persons up to 90 persons (classroom set-up), perfect for your banquet, function, or conference needs. Room service is conveniently available 24/7.

For dinner, they served a variety of Filipino cuisines, buffet style:

While for breakfast, they also have an eggs and pancakes station, aside from the usual buffet. It was a Sunday morning, so the place was packed and lines were long.

Still had a great meal, though!

Walking Distance to...

What I like about staying in Belmont Hotel Manila is that it is close to everything: the church, convenience stores, the surrounding hotels, shopping mall, the airport, and Resorts World Manila. It's the best place to stay to avoid traffic for an early morning flight, or to rest coming from a long flight to Manila. But of course, I also like it as a solo staycation hotel, or as a venue to bond with my family and friends.

They also provide scheduled airport shuttle service, or you can ride the Resorts World aircon jeep to go around the compound:

After work and dinner, the bloggers all walked to Resorts World Manila for some R&R. We watched the musical Annie at the Newport Performing Arts Theater:

Seatmates with Charlene and Mother Earth... Excited for the show!

This time, with Rod and MJ:

Took these photos during the curtain call. Can't decide on my favorite song from the play (Tomorrow, It's A Hard Knock Life, or Maybe), but we surely left the theater with major LSS (Last Song Syndrome). From the cast to the set, everything's a treat!

Catch Annie at Resorts World Manila, till December 4 only! Check out http://www.rwmanila.com/shows-events for more information.

While waiting for Ava, Char and I played with night photography and took street shots just outside Belmont:

Then I stayed at the beautiful lobby while surfing the internet. When Ava arrived, we walked to 7Eleven near RW for some midnight snacks, which we consumed in our room while talking about life and travels. We slept at around 4ish am already, wah!

The next day, we had to leave early after breakfast, and was in Megamall for the art workshop in less than an hour!

Other Facilities

But before checking out, Ava and I went to the rooftop to see the hotel's pool. They have a kiddie pool, outdoor jacuzzi, and a 360-degree panoramic view rooftop outdoor swimming pool and massage deck. Wasn't able to maximize all the facilities, I learned that they also offer a fully equipped gym, a spa, and a sauna and steam room. Maybe on my next visit!

From the good location, kind and attentive staff, and beautiful rooms and facilities, it was a pleasant first stay at the Belmont Hotel Manila. Will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends!
