Indeed, the best experiences are the ones shared with others. ❤
Last night, guilty of not being familiar with any K-Pop song unless it came from a K-Drama huhu, I went to celebrate with Filipino fans at the 2017 One K Global Concert at the Mall of Asia Arena. Manila is the FIRST leg of this international concert series, and I felt lucky to be part of it with my fellow K-Drama fan-friends Ashley and Ava!
Last spring, I had the chance to tour DMZ, the barrier that separates North and South Korea [blogpost]. More than a piece of land filled with tourists, DMZ is a frustrating reminder of the post-war division in the Korean peninsula for more than 70 years already!
Now I'm thinking, is a United Korea still an impossible dream?
It's officially Spring/Summer in the fashion calendar, and Summer when we only talk about dear ol' Pilipinas. From the very comfortable and cool weather of the past weeks, temperature is rising day by day as we prepare for beach season and vacation mode (well, for some!).
Anyway, Uniqlo recently launched their Spring/Summer 2017 collection at the Whitespace Manila. And although we (trying hard to be) minimalists don't need more clothes, a little update to our long-wear basics won't hurt the pockets as these are guaranteed "repeatable" in any weather.
And so.... here are the best basics I loved during Uniqlo's SS2017 presentation!
I'm trying to experiment with different editing styles lately in the hopes of finally doing away with vintage / grainy feel [This is for Instagram, hehe]. Earlier, if I may share, I deleted two pictures on my IG feed with my new bluish-fade experimental editing.. And then re-uploaded them (as an experiment) with good ol' grains. Guess what, these pictures got 2x more likes than the first time I uploaded them! 😭😳
I guess it's still the season for vintage / grainy photos?? ... But before going back to that photo treatment, let me share some 2016 Spring and Autumn Korea photos with bluish-faded editing. These places, whatever the month, and regardless of the season--will sparkle especially at night. ⭐
I've been a vegetarian for more than 10 years, but it doesn't mean I've been a healthy eater! I love my sweets and junk foods, and most of my food cravings consist of potatoes, cheese, and more carbs! 😁
One of my staple food is egg (I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian, meaning I still eat eggs and dairies), but lately I find myself cringing whenever I cook the typical scramble (oh-no!). Nalalansaan nako. 😓 A friend suggested that I try other food whenever at home so I don't have to remove egg from my food list. Para din mamiss ko sya, hehe. Whenever I go out of town, egg is my go-to so I can't afford to remove this.
Anyway, discovered some food alternatives which I will share to you guys in this post!
If there's a local brand that speaks to me the most, and this is with all honesty, I think it's Oxygen. Oxygen's look is more of relaxed, chill, and very street -- generally how I will describe my style.
For earlier's hangout event at the Trinoma branch, I decided to check out (as usual) the men's section for pieces that I will wear myself. I enjoy blurring the gender lines when it comes to fashion. Borrowed from the boys? You'll enjoy raiding their closet if it's filled with Oxygen!
Remember the lines from your favorite songs that you used to doodle to fill up your school planner? Mine came mostly from this band.
Sharing photos I took during the Goo Goo Dolls Manila concert last February 11, 2017 at the Araneta Coliseum. Waited for this concert to happen for more than a decade... And it was all worth it!
How to be you, Bok Joo?
After watching Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, I was all-out online in showing my k-drama hangover and obsession (it's borderline embarrassing, lol!). You can't blame me, it's the first series that I can completely say that I can relate to because unlike the usual "perfectly pretty" k-drama characters, Kim Bok Joo is very relatable. It me, Bok Joo-shi!

First of all, Happy Valentine's Day guys!
Remember when I called for entries for M&Ms Fun First Move Project?
Here's what happened to the lucky winner and her date!
Weeks ago, (pikit-mata) I said yes to another adventure without expecting who I'm going with (except Mother Earth who invited me, thank you!) and what I got myself into.
I realized that some of the best and most memorable moments of my existence were the ones that I just took the plunge. So I decided to build 2017 around that thought and, well, good decision so far!
Anyway, let me take you around Masungi Georeserve through this photo diary, still featuring my current aesthetic obsession: "Basag ang camera lens" lol. 😀
Recently, I turn to Korean street style for fashion inspo. My current Pinterest feed will prove this obsession, hehe. Earlier while going around the new (and HUGE!) Penshoppe Capital at the UP Town Center-Katipunan, I spotted some hot Korean fashion trends around the store. 💗 I am sure even K-Pop Queen and Penshoppe endorser Dara will approve! 😉 Sharing some of these finds below....
Catching myself constantly checking airline sites the past days (or even months!), desperate to experience Spring again this year.
Even I can't understand my obsession for cherry blossoms (I even had a lone flower as my first tattoo! 🌸). More than the given that they are just sooo beautiful, I am obsessed by the fact that they only last for TWO WEEKS MAX. The ephemeral beauty, the rarity, makes me crave to be there and then again. The end of winter, right before summer. I can go on and on about its literal AND figurative meanings!
Anyway, while my Spring dreams for 2017 is still pending, I decided to look back and edit photos from my first sakura encounter last 2015 in Japan (Osaka-Kyoto-Tokyo) with my Ate.
PS: All these pictures were taken using iPhone 5.
Madaling sabihin kesa gawin, pero para saan pa ba't nasa masaya at pinaka magandang stage ako ngayon ng aking single life kung hindi ko ishashare kung paano ako nahantong sa ganitong lagay.
Maraming ways para maka move-on, sabi nga nila "it's a process". Totoong time heals everything, but habang gapang pagong ang oras... Kailangan may gawin ka. I think that's the summary of this post, move on by moving forward (naks).
Anyway, here goes my list!
Traveling with World Juanderer is like having a personal butler while you just enjoy your trip. They are a group of well-experienced travelers who will personalize your next adventure, tailoring it to your own expectations and preferences.
"Literally, we have your trip covered. Your every whim--consider them fulfilled," says World Juanderer Travel Specialist Gabriel San Pedro.
It might not look like it, but I love Hello Kitty! She's one of the first cartoon character toys my parents bought for me in the 90s, when mom and dad went to Tokyo for a work incentive.
I find it amusing to see Hello Kitty in almost all my travels! It is my goal to one day visit the Sanrio Puroland the next time I go to Tokyo! [Discounted Sanrio Puroland tickets]
Browsing through Groupon Coupons, I discovered that it's so much more than discounted shopping from your favorite retailers.

“The people who work the hardest for good skin are soldiers. Soldiers use three to four different kinds of products... If I have a contract with a skincare company to be their model, then I usually use their products. I always wear sunscreen and every day, I use a mask or a pack.”
- Song Joong Ki, Descendants of the Sun [source]
I am currently fond of K-beauty routines. Oh, even male Koreans value their skin--Parang mga walang pores! More than quality makeup and application skills, Koreans value skincare so you can start with a good base for all the products.
After last night's Yeppunonnie event, I have so much Korean beauty post ideas for the coming days (looks? recommended brands?). But for this post, let me share the brands our favorite K-Drama stars actually endorse PLUS the happenings during last night's Yeppunonnie K-Beauty x K-Pop event! (read till the end, there's a K-Beauty giveaway!).
Taking selfies is a "normal" thing these days, "selfie" was even included in the Oxford dictionary as an official word in 2013. Taking selfies is a way to either keep memories or just because ang ganda ng makeup ko today (lol). In Korea, they call selfies "selca" 셀카 for Self + Camera.
Trying to take a selfie by the photo wall during Vivo's event last January 21 at the Mall of Asia-Atrium. Hi Kuya! Haha!
Love it or hate it, Valentine's Day has an impact to us Pinoys. This coming love month, are you adventurous enough to make the first move and surprise your loved one to show how special he or she is? Or are you finally ready to reveal yourself to your long time crush?
In whatever relationship you are in right now, M&Ms is here with an exciting Fun First Move Project!
The past months entailed lots of train rides for me to get to my destinations on time. I had a slight trauma using the MRT-LRT for the past years because of maintenance issues and sobrang siksikan lang talaga. Honestly though, I noticed that my more recent train experiences were better.
For my bazaar weekend, I decided to meet up with some of my old suppliers around Manila. Of course, I can ride Grab as usual but taking the train is faster and cheaper. Here are some of my positive observations with our train system. Hopefully, this is the start of more improvements for Metro Manila's (and the whole country's!) mode of transportation.
A few years ago, my friends and I took part in Cebu's Sinulog Festival. It was also my birthday week, very timely for this trip and the nightly parties. Those were the days!
This year, from January 13-15, Smart will be part of the two biggest parties in Sinulog: LifeDance and Invasion. As always, if it's a #SmartSinulog party, I'm sure it will be a epic! Aside from the partying, here are other things you can do since you're already in Cebu:
This post is a few weeks late, but after seeing fellow bloggers who also posted theirs, it inspired me to make mine as well (The Verns and Ashley). I thought to myself that this may also attract my goals, and who knows, I might be able to tick everything from this list if I just put them down and not just randomly think of them!
Here goes:
One of the best things about South Korea is that they also love their coffee! ☕
You'll see this in their K-Dramas where most date scenes and meet-ups are held in cafes. I am listing Descendants of the Sun's Dal.Komm Coffee, Cheese In The Trap's Coffee Bay, and The Heirs' Mango Six as my next coffee destinations when I go back to Seoul this May. You can even create a cafe-hopping itinerary when you go to Korea!
