My Perps MedSpa Experience

Thursday, June 28, 2012

Yesterday was actually the Feast of our Lady of Perpetual Help. I didn't intend to schedule my University of Perpetual Help visit on this day... but ayan na! Nagawa ko na! Cool coincidence! Hehe (ambabaw ko lang ;P)

Anyway, after my experience in The Spa High Street few weeks ago, I have no plans on getting a massage anytime soon (masarap but magastos). Then I received an email with the subject: Pampering Invitation from Perps MedSpa.

The offer includes: "FREE services consisting of facial, mesorejuvenation vitamin serum and a one-hour whole body massage, we can also arrange for a free trial session of our non-invasive ultra-lipo/lipo-dissolve if you are interested."

...How can I say no? :) Naintriga din kasi ako sa non-invasive lipo! Hehe.

Although a proud "southerner", seldom ako mapadpad sa Las Pinas area. Ayoko irisk mag cab (ang cab dito sa south, ginto!)...So I just rode a jeep and nilagpasan ang Alabang Town Center...And true enough, walang P50 I reached the University of Perpetual Help DALTA Medical Center:

I love Las Pinas, super clean unlike the environment where I studied high school and college (hehe)

Passed by Perpetual school and their hospital...

Till I saw The Wellness Complex:

The place is pretty bare as of the moment, sign na bago lang siya, plus ang daming constructions going on.

Learned that they have lots of wellness projects for Perps, including a gym!

Since the MedSpa is fairly new (November 2011), they offer lots of free trials now. If you're from the south din, iavail nato!

A neat and impressive lobby:

Comfy couches while waiting for your treatment, and you won't get bored because the have...

...A TV! Deathly Hollows ang pinanuod ko while waiting, hehe. That door leads to the consultation room:

I asked for their restroom, and was lead to a simple and clean one:

The services were done in separate cubicles, I love the privacy na hindi inooffer in some day spa I've been to na tabi-tabi kayo sa isang big room:

The first treatment: Whole-Body Massage

The massage room is spacious, rendered in earth tones, and with modern minimalist design:

A mirror by the sink, or my "bag area"

Nothing much, but essentials like basic soap and cotton buds are present:

Shower Area (Didn't bathe na since I came from house anyway)

Shower cap, soap, and shampoo are already provided so no need na mag baon:

Hangers and rubber slippers are also provided (yup naka goth-boho uniform nanaman ako that day, lagot kay Pax hehe)

Adjustable lighting, so the room has a fairly comfortable ambiance (plus with the usual relaxing aromatherapy going on).

My verdict: I have to say that the massage experience is really good! If your goal ay yung masarap and no frills na masahe talaga, I recommend MedSpa! I also found out that ALL their masseurs and even yung aestheticians nila are Registered Nurses (required!). In short, MedSpa boasts of their highly trained medical and paramedical staff...so yung Aesthetic and dermatological treatments and spa services nila are all backed by proven treatment protocols! Thank you to Nurse Brenda for the super sarap and therapeutic massage!

They also have a couples room if ever mag jowa kayong pupunta doon (#foreveralone --chos!)

Lakas maka-masahe-in-Bora ng room theme, hehe:

Double robes, and a mirror / sink area:

With the Couples Room, merong private sauna facility right next to the shower area (bongga)

After my massage, I went out for a coffee break in the nearby SM Las Pinas, and went back for my facial appointment. I was expecting the facial along with the nakakacurious mesorejuvenation vitamin serum, but buti nalang I consulted if it's fine to undergo the treatment ng currently nagpipeel ang facial skin ko because of retinol cream usage. They advised that I go back nalang in a week, and discontinue muna ang retinol cream, baka makasama if nagfacial ako ng sensitive pa ang skin ko. Although nakakabitin, I find this impressive because I know na hindi lang sila basta nagfafacial, but MedSpa knows what they are doing.

Instead, I tried their non-invasive ultra-lipo/lipo-dissolve:

Although scary ng pangalan, the treatment wasn't nakakabother at all. Sa umpisa lang may buzzing / ringing sounds kang maririnig, pero normal naman to and madali naman akong nadistract with my conversations with my Nurse Pauleen. The machine they use daw is called Ultra Cavitation, which reduces water content and sculpt areas like tummy, arms, thighs, and buttocks. Treatments in Perps MedSpa are conducted only by their doctors or registered nurses who had thorough training in The Zen Institute, so alam mong you're in good hands.

In a usual procedure, the first step is consultation muna with their licensed doctor. In this part, the doctor will check your current condition and lifestyle, then advice you din of a diet plan and exercise. They always stress on the exercise part kasi ang mangyayari, ilooloosen lang ng machine yung "problem areas" mo, but important din na may toning...thus the need talaga of a physical activity. Which I think is good din, at least they do not advise their patients na mag rely lang and maging dependent sa machines.

Tinanong ko, so bat po kailangan pa ng ganito? Nurse Pauleen told me na mas mabilis talaga ang effect niya, since marami ding clients nila who go there ay dahil slow na ang metabolism. Ano po yung best exercise for you after this procedure? Personally daw hiphop abs! Cool. I got all these info while distracting myself and nakipagkwentuhan nalang with the resident nurse who applied a cold gel and then swirled the gun-like machine around my tummy area! Lol.

Usually, this lasts for 30 minutes, but I only had 7 minutes of this non-surgical lipo. Felt the softness sa tummy area ko with just a short span of treatment, so I thought paano pa if yung mga regular sessions!

It was actually a great afternoon, and super naappreciate ko sa lahat is the service of Perps MedSpa. Lahat very accommodating and friendly, you'll feel at ease sa every treatment, and you'll enjoy your whole stay. More than the pampering experience and ambiance of the usual day spa, Perps MedSpa have scientifically proven, safe, and effective treatments--with affordable rates, and done by registered nurses! Super worth it!
