WACOAL: Perfect Fit Party!

Thursday, October 31, 2013

"Wearing the wrong bra size is like wearing ill-fitting shoes."

Last week, in between my bazaar and the fashion week, I went to WACOAL's office in Makati for their bloggers Perfect Fit Party!

We were welcomed to the venue with food and drinks, and cute these themed cupcakes with tiny bras and Wacoal's logo:

Also, after one million years, saw my little sis Arnie!!! Photo booth sesh:

While waiting for the other bloggers, we designed our own bras. Ayos ba my "branding" Anagon Moulin Rouge Bra and my Camo Bra? ;p

The program started with an ice breaker! Had a team game with fellow bloggers and got to know some of them better. KAGULEY! :D

The highlight of the Perfect Fit Party: A talk about Wacoal, and the importance of right fitting bra and undies, and even the right cloth and color for these intimates:

Tips from the brand:

The no-nos! Shems nasasaktan ako for the girl sa dulo ng pic! ;p

How to wear your bra properly, how to determine if it's the right fit.... After this talk sabi ko kay Arnie may Major in Bra, Minor in Undies nako, hehehehe.

Happy Halloween daw sabi ng wedgie ;p

Event sponsor PEVONIA also had a talk on their impressive brand and products:

We tested their moisturizing body oil, love the scent!

We all took home a Pevonia full bottle--I got the sunscreen and can't wait to roadtest it!

Before the event ended, we all tried Wacoal products, each segregated in our own personal boxes with our correct size!

Multi-Anagons!!! Panalo the mirrors in Wacoal's fitting room. To them, fitting your bra is most essential before purchase.

Before going out of their office, I learned more on right fit and care for my bras (bawal i-fold, bawal mapisa), and even got tips when packing them for your travels. And seriously, I went out of Wacoal's headquarters wearing my new Wacoal bra dahil naconscious na ako sa tamang fit, and its benefits!

PhFW SS2014: LEE

The Lee Spring-Summer 2014 Collection displayed reengineered construction paired with experimental treatment to conventional denims. SM Mall of Asia Atrium was transformed to simulate the streets of New York (complete with vintage car set-up!) and put the audience at the heart of the scene.

Sorry for the lack of photos, the catwalk's twist and turns and unpredictable choreography of the models made it difficult to document the whole going-ons. To view the different clothes for Lee SS2014, you may check out LEE's Facebook.

What I love most about the show is how the brand recognized raw talent by letting participating students showcase their craft through the Lee Style Army 2013 competition. Meanwhile, the fashion show's "Brooklyn style" set-up (although gave the photographers an extra-challenge) lent every audience the chance to be in the "front row". Everybody grasped the collection in full details--only a few brands put this into consideration.

Customized Hoodies and Baseball Shirts

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

For Christmas, the family decided to pool our funds (and creativity) to create a "family shirt" as our gifts to our relatives (haha) para feeling "Team Gonzales" kami on Christmas Eve! I love personalized gifts, and for sure sa mga mag jowakers, game din kayo with matchy couples' hoodies or baseball shirts!

Here's a cute IG store discovery:

Snap Tees shop sells RAGLAN Shirts (3/4s, 100% cotton) at P300 each. Love my red+white baseball shirt, perfect fit and very comfortable!
Also available in green+white, black+white, royal blue+white, black+gray. Customizable. Discounted price for orders of more than 3 pieces.

Hoodies at P700 for plain, and P900 if with print. Got the gray with printed "A":
Print can be made for front, back, or both (price may vary). Hoodies are premium Heavyblend Gildan, a US brand, made of super comfy and warm material! Also available in black, red, maroon, navy blue and royal blue.

The Fat Kid Inside x Team Manila

Hindi ko na mastress enough na isang Fat Kid Inside talaga ako. Growing up as a "big girl" was in a way self-esteem-difficult, and I think nadala ko nadin yung mind and heart of that "Fat Kid" even today. Though I want to put things in a more positive light now--mas over-over conscious lang ako whenever I eat too much junk nanaman, or kulang na ako ng exercise!

The Fat Kid Inside T-Shirt - Team Manila | Houndstooth Maxi Skirt with Slit - Fashion Infinity | Hat - Cotton On | Studded Bag - SM Parisian

Like Papi Erwan Heussaff, who went from weighing 260 pounds and eating a lot of junk food to losing 91 pounds, he did this not by taking shortcuts, but through healthy living, eating right, and having daily fitness activities. Thus, The Fat Kid Inside blog was born...where Erwan documents his food, health, and fitness stories.

To express The Fat Kid Inside’s zeal for food, Team Manila had to come up with classic yet still modern looking ideas to translate this into design and material. The collaboration launch was held last October 23 in their Rockwell branch.

Tees at P695 | Tank Tops at P595

Cute Half-Apron at P545

Canvass Totes at P595

Of course I got this shirt! :) Love the chalk typography!

With fellow bloggers Paul, Angela, Sarah, Kells, and Jackie! :)

The Fat Kid Inside x Team Manila is definitely for every food fanatic out there--who are still conscious of their health and total lifestyle. Sooo... do you eat to live or live to eat? Hehe.

Whenever people ask me for my personal favorite show this season, my top of mind answer is SM Men's Fashion. They did brought British model David Gandy to headline their show, but the best part really is the whole production! Great stage and set with rotating wheels, grand orchestra at the center, they played "very now" songs from The Killers and Katy Perry's Roar, and then filling up the whole venue with bubbles! The whole experience was so great, even girls who can't really relate to the clothes had an amazing time!

In a talk I attended weeks ago in SOFA with guest speaker Sir Colin Mcdowell, the international fashion writer said something like "The future is in menswear." With all these interesting designs and shows coming up headlining men--the species I never thought would be so involved in fashion--well, this testosterone-filled arena is indeed an exciting venue to watch out for.
