Just A Phase

Naalala ko lang, back in high school, I became part of an all-girls barkada, comprised of 16 excelling (yeheees, sorry buhatan nato ng bangko!) kids from the "pilot class", and head of the different high school sanctioned clubs. I remember now nalang na I never had a kabarkada in my club since 1st year cause all of them were presidents in their own group--from glee club, math club, outreach, computer, pep voice, pep squad, etcetera... And of course, yours truly, from Art Club. I had extra curricular activities here and there, but always dapat part ako ng Art Club.. And during my last year in high school, they voted for me as president and I guess it sort of gauged the whole life-track / life-path I've chosen since then.

Anyway! Big throwback lang since the past days had been a series of memory lane! But first, my ootd from the SM Doll Glam event, na nalimutan kong dresscode pala dapat is Doll (isang malaking DUH haha)

I know it's a trend, and trend-following here tends to make one poseur-ish (dami kasing cool, haha), but I really enjoy looking normcore now, borderline pambahay, but still comfortable. 

I like the quirky feel mixing the striped details from the Adidas cap, to my Elle Girl dress, down to my Adidas slides. And of course, the gray Baggu bag that you can get from The Travel Club was a perfect, hindi papansin accessory to the whole look.

As with my New Balance phase, or maxi skirt phase, I know this look will have a deadline--but for now, sabi ko nga, enjoy ako e, di ko sure if bagay sakin pero masaya ako so push! ;)

Anyway! Finally, ginaganahan na uli ako mag kwento. Hindi ko alam pero feel ko wala na masyadong nagbabasa ng blogs for the past months. Parang (just assuming a) people simply rely on the convenience and visual-appeal of Instagram for updates and fashion ideas. I miss the days when people scroll your blog, add an insightful or sweet comment. But oh well, I still like writing looong kwentos so I guess I can't really totally replace my blog for IG. Eventually, people will find another medium and get addicted to it... Instagram will then be just another phase.

Running through the halls of a high school. Not mine, though, it still felt good to be back to work!

Surprise feature! Saw myself in the newspaper last week for the Fitflop SuperJelly event. In my pambahay (haha, cursing the normcore phase now! Joke!)

One time last week, I partied with Smart's team and ambassadors in Skinny Mike (The Fort) for the Smart Bro Quiz Night! Sobrang crazy cause everyone's competitive! Anyway, this was my team's table--Mad Men + Niche + Lush Angel! Haha--still the winning team in my eyes! Lol.


On a different night naman, right after the Eddie Bauer fashion show at the SM Aura, ang swerte nga naman that Christine was also asa High Street for Butcher Shop Pub's dry-run. Had drinks with the Mad Men + Niche... Ang saya and sobrang spontaneous kasi ng lahat! :)


Speaking of Christine, went out with her yesterday since holiday and wala syang work. We had light dinner in Glo, and--the highlight of our "bonding" was we went to gym together! Haha! She was forced to do my gym routine kasi wala palang Zumba kahapon (nakabakasyon si teacher, lol). Enjoyed 1.5hours of sweat, focus, good music, and may extrang chika during breaks with this girl!

My favorite part of the Intercon gym is the poolside, na pwede kang mag relax after pagtutuos sa bike, sabay mag emo. Lol.

Another highlight of last week was the little eat-outs with Pax. Bihira ko na sya makasama because of her sobrangbusy sched, but bilang tao na kumakain, I enjoy nalang the few hours na we spend para mag food trip and luckily napapadalas sya last week--one time sa Vikings. And then this one naman, very random na Goldilocks ang napili namin, hehehe:

Ok, last kwento na at sobrang ginanahan naman ako, haha...

Last Sunday, after a cancelled out-of-town, meant siguro talaga na I was able to watch our high school glee club reunion concert. Since commute lang kami ni Cea going to St. Scho, nag swear kami na mag stopover sa good-ol Becky's Kitchen. Sobrang namiss ko tong bakeshop nato! Dito kami bumibili noon last minute ng crinkles and brownies lalo na pag Christmas party potluck or teacher's day, tapos di kami prepared. Hehe!

Bulletin boards ng clubs sa Gate 6, and of course hinanap ko ang Art Club ko. :) Tawang tawa si Cea sa bagong club na Little Picasso--lakas maka-pressure sa mga kids! :D Hahaha!

Super kinikilig ako the whole time, every song, even the theater, brought back so many St. Scho memories. Ang dami ko ding nakasalubong na teachers ko noon, including my moderator noon sa Art Club. Nung una nahihiya pako, pero nag joke nalang ako na, "Miss! (how we call our teachers in high school, college nalang naging Ma'am, hehe) Next time dapat tayo na gagawa ng backdrop!" Hehe, yun ang role naming Art Club members noon pag may big gathering ang school. Taga painting ng giant stage backdrops!


I really went to the concert for my kabarkada, Mitch! Ang dami niyang solo parts (yey!) which I posted on my Instagram like her biggest fan girl, hehe! Sya talaga all-time favorite singer ko!

Throwback vids during breaks. Naku naalala ko to, Pandacan outreach of my batchmates where we taught the kids songs, children's literature, etc. every Saturday. Nakakamiss.

Ang feel good ng day na yon, and of course we had to take pictures around the campus, our tambayan, and sa field! :D

Ilang years ago na ba since high school? I know that even personal style changes, technology is now easily replaced (blog before, IG now, iba nanaman tomorrow)... But I am happy that there are things that remain consistent in this world--like my love for art. Like my high school friends and my memories with them. Just a phase? Maybe not. :)
