World Without Strangers

Saturday, July 05, 2014

Ang saya yesterday, and I wasn't expecting much. I had a pamper-time morning with Tracy at Pink Parlour A. Venue, a sports apparel shopping party at Planet Sports BGC for Adidas #MyGirls, and then headed to Glorietta to watch the main acts for Giordano's World Without Strangers Music Festival. It was a long day, so I decided to wear comfy clothes--tipong pang library / study mode & not related to my sports and music events, wahaha.

Two-tone Polo and Classic "School Bag" - Giordano | Shoes - Dr. Kong | Specs - CNA Korea Fairview Terraces | Photos - @tracyayson

Not sure if you remember this bag, but it was an it bag back during my grade school years. Lahat ng bata halos eto ang school bag noon sa amin, haha! Very 90s, and still (for me) cool and classic. I am sure this white polo with sky blue details will be with me for a loooong time as well. Giordano = INVESTMENT pieces.

These Dr. Kong loafers, a part of their newest collection for girls, took me from Alabang to Makati Ave to High Street, Glorietta, then back in Alabang ng hindi sumakit ang paa. Commuter-friendly, and durable pair!

As mentioned earlier, my last stop for that day was at the new Glorietta Activity Center to catch the first-ever World Without Strangers Music Festival--A FREE FOR ALL, all-OPM concert featuring 15 local bands including Callalily, Sponge Cola, Urbandub, Franco, Up Dharma Down, Gracenote, Techy Romantics, Taken By Cars, Kala, Autotelic, Join The Club, Cygnet, Maude, Hidden Nikki and Yolanda Moon.

When I got there at around 7:30pm, it was already the main act - Urbandub singing their so much feels songs:

Followed by my local favorite band Spongecola!

Spongecola performed Tambay, Puso, and Bitiw:

"Oh! That's my wife in the audience!" Grabe ang sweet nila. :p

Grabe energy! Yael approached and performed his last song at the general audience area. I read in @GiordanoPH accounts that some of the people last night even came all the way from provinces pa just to watch this huge gig!

WORLD WITHOUT STRANGERS AT ITS FINEST!

Giordano Philippines also awarded the Statement Tee Design winners; the winning designs will be released in Giordano stores by the end of July. The World Without Strangers Citizens where 12 individuals were recognized during the festival featured people who have contributed to creating that ideal world--from social workers to artists, from writers to taxi drivers.

Boys Night Out hosted the event. Panalo padin ang mga hirit!

They interviewed a girl from the audience, and sabi na nga ba I saw her na somewhere! Youtube star Donnalyn Bartolome:

She sang something heartbreaking, her own composition, thus Sam YG's hurting face, hehehe:

They also interviewed fellow blogger Ruth, hahaha!

They asked for someone na bagong break, lol, and Mother Earth insisted that they call Ruth! Benta!

Finale by Rico Blanco, also the newest Giordano endorser. He was a great performer, very commanding! When he said "Sing!" and "Show me your hands!" I can't help but follow.

Ira Cruz:

Sobrang ENJOY the whole set, Rico Blanco even sang old hits Liwanag sa Dilim, Kisap Mata, Elesi, Posible (naalala ko Sea Games sports writing stint ko haha)and Hinahanap Hanap Kita. Di ko napigilan magwala! Haha!

Benta din ang mga hirit!

“A world without strangers is a borderless one where people walk hand in hand and celebrate life as one,” said Rico Blanco, music icon and Giordano Philippines’ latest brand ambassador.

Rico Blanco at the general audience section, high-fiving and hand-shaking with as much people as he can. A world without strangers exemplified.

Of course! What's a music festival without an "arm souvenir". CONGRATS GIORDANO PHILIPPINES for this successful event and campaign. Music is indeed a universal language, I went home with big OPM LSS, and a happy heart from this crazy night!
