Festival Supermall River Park

Sunday, December 21, 2014

Before Festival SuperMall (or "Festi" to my family), we have to drive all the way to Makati for our weekly groceries, mass, and dinner bonding. But when this mall was built (and this felt like it was just yesterday), not week na hindi ako nakapunta dito. The Gonzales listen to mass and have our weekly worship in The Feast, located in Festival Mall's 2nd floor (next to Tony and Jackey). We also conveniently complete our groceries in Save More or Shopwise. Other than that, we just enjoy shopping, watch movies, and dining (Chef's Avenue!) in this mall.
Yesterday, I was lucky to be invited in the nearest event I've ever attended in my whole blogging career, haha! So I went to Festival Mall to celebrate the launch of the new RIVER PARK. There were performances by Kundirana and Rachel Alejandropremiere dance troupe Ballet Philippines, good food, fireworks, a 200, 000 twinkling lights show, etcetera.

But of course, the highlight for me is the whole new 2,300-square meter River Park, where I can overstay every Sunday while waiting for mass. They even encourage people to utilize the park for morning jogs. I can also imagine reading a book here, or take nice outfit shots. Haha! Check out the place at night:

Earlier, in between mass and worship, I decided to spend a few minutes to check Festival Mall's River Park ng daytime. To go to the area, you have to cross from the mall (exit from Mcdo / SaveMore)...

Among the dining concepts featured in River Park are:
  • Market Basket. Managed by the Chef’s Quarter Group of Restaurants, Market Basket takes the concept of the dampa and modernizes it by allowing guests to pick out the freshest ingredients sourced from farms. The restaurant specializes in contemporary Filipino and European cuisine. It also has a take-home counter for gourmet products such as freshly-baked breads and bottled condiments.
  • Chef’s Barrel. For those who want a night of drinks with their buddies paired with delicious food, there’s Chef’s Barrel. Also by the Chef’s Quarter Group, the restaurant is best known for its array of wines and spirits paired with classic European and American fare. Specialties include their Sausage Platter, their steaks, and the Pissaladierre, a take on the Italian thin-crust pizza done without cheese.
  • Asahikawa Bangaichi Ramen. The ramen craze is one of the most popular food trends today, and River Park offers a different twist to it with Asahikawa Bangaichi Ramen. Franchised to the country by the Tian Seng family that established My Thai, Asahikawa Bangaichi Ramen takes its inspiration from the cleaner, sweeter taste of the ramen of northern Japan. Specialties are longtime favorites such as shoyu ramen, miso ramen, and shio ramen.
  • Mati’s Meat and Breads. Managed by the Melo’s Group of Restaurants, Mati’s specializes in comfort food with a contemporary twist. Known for their steaks, the Melo’s Group brings these over to their new restaurant. Other favorites include Buffalo Wings, and JJ’s Special Tacos.
  • Starbuck’s. Easily everybody’s favorite hang-out, Starbucks is the best place for diners who choose to cap off their night with coffee or tea.

Completing the line up and opening in the first quarter of 2015 are areBizu Patisserie; Rice Paper, a Vietnamese resto; Hog’s Breath Cafe, an Australian steak house, Planet Grapes, and Red, an all-dining and bar concept restaurant.

Serenading the diners earlier is acoustic king Jimmy Bondoc, while MYMP will be there tomorrow Dec. 28. Here are the other events:

It is even more beautiful in the morning! What I noticed and commend about this place is that security guards are everywhere.

I remember the times staying at Starbucks nearby Riverpark and imagining myself taking OOTDs in the middle platform. Hihi.
