Not The Usual Casual

Saturday, January 24, 2015

On days when I want to go casual but not the usual tee-and-jeans combo, I go for printed shirt (men's dept store find!) and a comfortable A-Line skirt... Till I discovered the versatile CULOTTES. I thought mahirap siya suotin, and medyo unflattering, till my dad na mismo ang nag sabing nakakapayat daw suot ko, lol. Thanks dad! ;p

Ending just below the knee (so they are not pants nor shorts, hehe), the culottes originated as a menswear clothing during the renaissance era. Interestingly, it used to be fit sa edge, with buttons or drawstrings or buckles, but the modern culottes are created to look like they are "divided skirts" for women to comfortably ride a bike or do errands and appear as if they are still wearing skirts.

Other ways to style the culottes are with loose polo shirt, ankle strap heels, sneakers, blazer, cropped top, mules, plain shirt, mandals, sweater, pumps, etc...

It was actually a school day, so I made sure my clothes are comfortable but still campus-rules appropriate. Had fellow blogger and Blo Dry Bar PR Yuki talk about prom hair, tips, and dos and don'ts. Thank you, also, for sharing your fun prom stories to us! I was entertained, and I am sure the girls learned a lot! :)

Happy Weekend! :)
