Instax And Crafts: Travel Board

Saturday, May 21, 2016

The first time I partnered with Fujifilm Instax Philippines for a crafts workshop was already TWO YEARS AGO. It was their first of many, and was then held in the huge events place Centris. Read more about that day HERE.

Now on their nth workshop, Instax invited me again to teach at the SM Megamall Atrium. After arranging our schedules, agreeing with a travel-themed project, the event finally pushed through last Saturday (May 14).

I got there around 2 hours early, and there were people settled on their seats already! Guests were required to pre-registered online, and were handed kits upon registration with the art materials for our 2 projects.

The event was in partnership with SM Megamall:

And Paper Blush:

As always, Instax's set-up was super duper artsy! I love the hippie / boho vibe of the venue. I wish I can have these in my room, hehe.

Hay... Instax cam and accessories galore!

Registration booth before the kagulo:

I had lunch, before settling at the makeshift backstage. People filled the space. Some of my long-time blog readers came to support me (thank you!). Some who came a bit late weren't able to get their art kits, but stayed to watch and enjoyed the company. It was a nice, lazy, crafty Saturday afternoon. :) My kind of day, actually!

Janeena Chan (Event's Host) and Sir Maeda San (Team Instax Philippines)

Marielle of CraftMNL started the workshop with Luggage Tags.

After the demo / explanation, everyone started with their projects:

While Reese Lansangan performed covers and original songs for the crowd. Everything's perfect!!!

When it was my turn already, I turned off na all my kaba and just winged it.

Ang dami kong hanash! Hahaha! Sorry Janeena. :D Brought so much props, and even additional prizes from Flight 001 Philippines! I make sure all my talks or workshops are interesting and still with personal touch!

Thank you Patty Villegas for taking my stage photos!

Janeena holding one of my first digital cameras, which is a Fujifilm Finepix! Haha. I also showed my overused yellow Instax camera, which I brought with me in almost ALL my travels!

Fuji Finepix:

My first Instax broke when it accidentally fell during my Disneyland California trip!!!

So really, thank God for Instax Share! I don't have to bring an extra camera with me during travels, and just print at home.

Samples of my Instax Travel Boards: Janeena is holding the basic board, while I hold the medyo complicated, collage type travel board:

The whole point is, "To maximize the materials available", think out of the box, and just be creative! :)

More music from Reese while the participants worked on their final projects:

Everyone's super serious / game-face, Instax units were at stake! :)

My faves! Thank you, always, Nato, Monica, Cora and Tina!

Chit-chat with Sir Maeda San and Janeena:

The pinaka mahirap part was judging the art works! Lahat maganda!

Instax Travel Boards outputs:

A surprise visit from Hello Kitty! Yey! Photo op before the announcement of winners! They gave away units of mini 7S Summer package, Wide 300 Summer Package, and an Instax Mini Hello Kitty in Red! Congrats to all the winners!!! I chose mine based on maximizing the materials and uniqueness of work!

I took a break before going back to the venue for the digital workshop. They had David Guison as guest speaker for Blogging 101.

Seatmates with my Bloggers United babies Nato and Monica:

David created an on-the-spot flatlay:

To support, I took lots of Snaps during David's talk! David: "Di ako insured". Lol!

Bonding with the boys after the looong day! Hi King, Deegee, and DG!

A week has passed since, and now that I look through the event hashtag (#InstaxAndCrafts), I see posts and comments wanting a rep eat of the workshop! It was a fulfilling day where LOTS of my interests merge (art, travel, teaching, and documenting), and I'm happy to share these with people who also enjoy the same things! Thank you Fujifilm Instax Philippines (@teaminstaxph) for yet another opportunity to work with your fun, creative community! I hope this is not the last!

Kampai! Cheers!
