My First Laser Teeth Whitening Experience with Affinity Dental Clinics, Alabang

I finally discovered a dental clinic that's barely 15 minutes away from my place here in Alabang. A little history, when I was still in school I used to go to QC just for my teeth cleaning at my parents' dentist. A few years ago, I had my braces and regularly went to another dentist whose clinic is in either Makati and Ortigas (depends on the day). I also had my wisdom tooth extraction there just last year.

Then I was introduced to Affinity Dental Clinics, a chain of dental care facilities in the Philippines, and they have a branch just in Westgate Hub in Alabang! I went during my scheduled visit to have teeth cleaning and general dental check-up. Super convenient for someone from the south!

They are located at the second floor:

Entering the clinic, I received a warm welcome from the receptionist. I don't really have a fear of dentists like most people I know, but I think a sunny and modern interiors + a friendly receptionist will always create a good first impression!

After filling up the client form, I walked through this hallway passing by the other rooms:

This is my room, as you can see, everything's almost all-white with blue accents. I like the feel of it, you know that everything's clean in this clinic.

When I took the chair, they handed me the remote for the Netflix! Cool!

Before we started, I asked my dentist Dra. Carla to check a concern I have had since last year, months after my wisdom tooth extraction. It's amazing that I don't have to get up from my seat as they rolled an Xray machine for my inner teeth right there and then. Dra. saw my problem, explained what happened, and gave me options for follow up treatment.

After that, we proceeded to basic teeth cleaning. Please do take time, no matter how busy you are, to go to the dentist for cleaning! Dra. Carla also suggested that I try their Laser Teeth Whitening service. It's my first time to do this, and because of yellowing teeth from my daily coffee, I said that will give it a go!

They have these "swatches" of different teeth shades which they matched with mine so we can really see the after effects of the Laser Teeth Whitening. I'm already in A3.5, hahaha! To be honest, I am not really super conscious with my teeth color, as long as they are healthy. But when I saw this, medyo KAKAHIYA! Hahaha!

Here's the machine that they used for the treatment. Nurse Ronnie applied mousse on my gums to protect them from the procedure. Bleaching solution is then applied to each tooth, after which, I am ready for the laser.

The first part lasted for about 30 minutes, while Nurse Ronnie stayed with me in the room the whole time to make sure I am comfortable. She also checked if there's a stinging feeling from time to time. We stopped mid way whenever I feel discomfort, reapplied mousse before we go about again. We extended till about an hour to see maximum results.

From A3.5, I now have the A1 teeth shade in just an hour! 

I have ngilo feeling here and there, but I tried to smile for my post-treatment photos! Haha!

After that, I received this post-teeth whitening dos and dont's and a small container of teeth mousse which I can apply if ever I feel discomfort. If you're also a coffee drinker like me, use a straw to avoid staining the teeth. If you want to maintain the results, eating dark foods and drinks should be avoided for at least 48 hours to a week. And lastly, avoid cold or hot food and drinks for a while since it also causes pain on the teeth.

At home, my teeth were really in pain, parang ngilong ngilo the whole night. But the next day, totally pain-free! I felt lucky coz from others' experience this ngilo can last till a MONTH. Tiis ganda talaga! Btw, Laser Teeth Whitening can only be done once a year.
