The press conference tackled the motivation and hardships of creating the film, and how Filipinos receive this foreign documentary. Director Andres Sanz put it best, that the mystery genre goes beyond nationality. This sparked my interest for the film, and will definitely catch El Cuadro tonight!

Hair Care At Home

Yesterday, I decided to just snip off my hair. It feels uncomfortable after more than a year of no salon visits, plus nasasayangan na ako sa shampoo!

I have no talent in hair cutting, but being on Tiktok every night (haha), I was able to catch a few tips on how to cut your own hair. I decided to give it a go. On my first snip, I was suddenly washed with regrets, haha! I kept on repeating to myself "It's just hair! It's just hair!", and eventually just proceeded. Surprisingly, end result wasn't as bad as I thought!

Did this technique where you tie your hair in front, and then just CHOP! Haha!

Chopped off this much hair! Felt lighter afterwards.

Aside from DIY haircut, I now use TRESemmé's Keratin Smooth Shampoo and Serum Conditioner. They promise "Salon Quality formula", so hair receives best ever professional keratin system even at home. That's 10 salon benefits in just one wash!

-Tames Flyaways

-Long-lasting fragrance

-Heat Protection

New look!

How To Use:

1. Apply shampoo to wet hair. Gently massage and rinse thoroughly.

2. After shampooing, apply serum conditioner from mid lengths to ends. Leave on for 2-3mins.

3. Rinse. In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with water.

Now, I am planning to color my hair again soon, or learn eyebrow grooming! Haha. Any self-care tips you've been doing at home that you want to share?

Pros And Cons of Borrowing Money

Is borrowing money always a bad thing?

Whenever you hear the word loan, often times there are negative connotations towards it. People who are against borrowing money often think that loans are not good for the finances. But there are also situations when we're left with no options but to borrow. Why do people resort to borrowing anyway? And what are the advantages and disadvantages of borrowing? Let's discuss them below.

Pros of Borrowing Money

1. For Growth. By borrowing money, you get a large sum of money that you can use for personal or business projects. In a short period of time, you have enough funds to build your dream house, continue your studies, or buy a car that can improve your quality of life. Forbes talks about other Pros And Cons of Personal Loans.

Business-wise, borrowing money can help you expand your start-up, hire more people, or purchase technology to further improve your products or services. When business takes off, and money is managed will, you will be able to pay off your loans and really start earning.

2. Less Pressures. Depends on where you borrowed from, loaning usually comes with flexible repayment schemes. You can earn the loaned money over a longer period of time, and then pay smaller sums, usually monthly or quarterly for a year or so. Having payment terms is easier on the pockets compared to worrying about acquiring a huge amount in an instant.

Cons of Borrowing Money

1. High Interests. Financial institutions such as banks willingly lend money because they can earn from it through interests. Interest rates differ for every institution or type of loan you get. Personal loans usually get higher interest rates because of the high risk factor for the lender, but it's still the same concept whichever type of loan you avail. Borrowing money means you're putting out more money than what you pay for during one-time or upfront payment, as interest adds up over time. You can read more on the other types of loans here.

2. Risks. Having monetary loans mean you are indebted to a financial institution or a person. You have to  make sure you earn enough to pay on time, or it might affect your credit score which will make it difficult for you to borrow in the future. Borrowing also requires tedious application process since this involves money. It can be lengthy and complicated, with extensive background checks and verifications. You might have to submit collaterals or papers of your valuable assets to get approval. You have to consider a lot of variables before you fill up that application form.

What to Consider Before Borrowing

1. Assess your money flow. Are you earning enough to be able to pay on time?

Borrowing money now will surely disrupt your cash flow in the future. You have to designate a certain amount during the whole repayment period, including interest.

2. Time for serious adulting. Are you responsible enough to manage your finances?

One of the risks in loaning, as mentioned earlier, is forgetting due dates. This will really cause a dent in your finances. If putting everything on your planner or calendar is not enough to juggle several loan payments, you might want to consider

Debt Consolidation can help you in managing all your loans, put them in one place so won't miss any deadlines, and then pay for everything at one time. It can also serves as your financial tool where you can oversee all your existing expenses, and whether or not you are capable of acquiring new loans again.

These are just two things you have to look into before borrowing money. Loaning can be both a good thing or a risky business, so it's really up to your capability to pay and responsibility to do so on time. As the old adage on money goes, it is neither good nor evil--but a reflection of it's user.

OXECURE Haul: Skincare for Acne-Prone Skin, Everyday Essentials, Etc.

Although I love my Korean skincare, I also like trying out Thai brands. I've been using them during my travels before because they usually come in neat sachets with cap closure. One of the recent brands I discovered from our local Youtubers is Thai skincare brand OXECURE.

OXECURE offers products targeting face and body acne. Although I seldom get acne anymore, I think I have to thank my regular skincare routine for it. Meaning, if I don't maintain it, I will definitely suffer from pimples again. So I always pick products that have anti-acne content. With OXECURE, their products are paraben and oil-free, making them safe & suitable even for people with sensitive and acne-prone skin like me.

Sharing some of the skincare products I am about to try this whole month. Will update this post once I finish them, or when I see immediate results!

OXECURE Sulfur Soap 30g - Php 89

This bar of soap does not melt easily, and for a sulfur soap, it doesn't have that strong smell. Suitable for both face and body, especially to those with oily and acne prone skin.

The 2.5% Sulfur helps cleanse, unclog pores, and reduce oil and bacteria accumulation of the skin. This will prevent new acne formation and even body odor.

Contains Mangosteen Extract, Tea Leaf Extract, and Soy Protein

How to Use: Wash face and body with Sulfur soap for 1-2 minutes, then rinse off with water.

OXECURE Facial Liquid Cleanser 100ml - Php 339

This liquid facial cleanser is suitable for both normal and sensitive skin. It also contains Sulfur, which helps in fighting acne and control excess facial oil. It has clear and runny consistency, doesn't have a strong scent, and a product that I can use daily.

Contains Propolis Extract (for acne marks)

How To Use: Dispense Facial Liquid Cleanser onto hand, rub a little, and gently massage over the face. Rinse with water. Use twice daily, day and night.

I like the packaging of this toner, it dispenses the right amount of product with just a few pumps to avoid wastage. Dermatologically tested, this toner is formulated for acne-prone skin. It helps reduce blackheads and whiteheads, exfoliates dead skin cells, and reduce acne inflammation. Best feature is this product is also alcohol-free, so it cleanses and nourishes the skin without the harmful chemicals.

Contains: 2% Betaine Salicylate (BHA), 4% PHA, Tea Tree Extract, Witch Hazel Extract
How To Use: Just pump on cotton pads or on your clean hands, and pat on skin. Can be used to prep skin before your usual day or night skincare routine.

I haven't been using sunscreen at home, but we all know this is still necessary especially when we're always in front of the computer. OXECURE's Acne Sunscreen is lightweight, oil-free and fragrance-free, so it suits oily and sensitive skin.

Aside from protection against harmful UV rays and blue light, this product also controls excess sebum, does not clog your pores, and even lightens dark spots!

Contains: Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Oligo-alginate, Dandelion Extract

RLC Residences provides vaccines for homeowners

The pandemic in the Philippines has caused anxiety and unease to its citizens. This unexpected global crisis comes with its own overwhelming challenges. For almost two years, local government units and private entities have worked overtime to provide their communities with the resources to get back on their feet following the drawback brought about by this health crisis.

In an effort to contribute to the growing number of vaccinated Filipinos, RLC Residences has taken the initiative to open a vaccination program for its residents.

The various Property Management Offices of RLC Residences developed projects have recently been working with local government units in keeping with its commitment to provide homeowners with a better residential experience and build stronger community connections.

The program kicked off last August 20, 2021, with a round of first doses for homeowners living within RLC Residences properties in Mandaluyong City. These include Gateway Residences, Gateway Garden Ridge, Sonata Private Residences, and Axis Residences. Those who qualify for the vaccination program are all its official residents and their families, with senior citizens and persons with disabilities prioritized by giving their first shot inside their homes. In addition, onsite Property Management Team members, including housekeeping, security and technical staff, are also included as vaccine recipients.

Following the initial roll-out, RLC Residences is also pursuing the expansion of the program to other properties in Pasig and Quezon City, such as The Pearl Place, East of Galleria, The Sapphire Bloc, Vimana Verde, Acacia Escalades, The Magnolia Residences, Escalades at the 20th, Escalades East Tower and Galleria Regency.

With this initiative already in place, RLC Residences aims to safeguard their spaces for their homeowners and employees with vaccines and their strict compliance with national pandemic protocols. Just recently, Axis Residences and Radiance Manila Bay received their Safety Seal Certifications from the Mandaluyong and Pasay LGUs for complying with the minimum public health standards.

To learn more about RLC Residences and the communities it continues to nurture, you may visit their website at You can also find them on social media via Facebook @RLCResidencesPH and Instagram @rlc_residences.

Project Glow-Up with Belo Collagen Smoothie and Glutathione Capsules

The past months has taken its toll on my overall health, including my skin condition. I am thinking of different ways to take care of my body again, including going back to workout and eating right. I am also taking my usual vitamins, but excited to add these supplements to my daily intake when I received them on the mail today via Shopee.

Belo Nutraceuticals brand aims to give us beautiful skin from within. I am hesitant in taking capsules or drinking things that I am not familiar with, but Belo is already a trusted brand so I had no second thoughts at all. I also like that their products are accessible, you can even order it online via Shopee app (and use your ShopeePay and free shipping coupons for more discounts!). It makes reordering more convenient in case I like the results.

Glutathione is known as a master antioxidant that detoxifies the body from free radicals. Whitening is only an after effect! A Belo Glutathione capsule has 250 mg of compacted glutathione that detoxifies the body, and lifts the skin from within preventing premature skin aging. It also contains Sodium Ascorbate or Vitamin C, which is not only good for your skin, but for your over-all health as well! The Belo Glutathione capsules can be taken 2x daily, with or without meals.

Belo Nutraceuticals Collagen Melon Smoothie
Php 980 / Buy 5 Sachets, Get 2 Free (Currently on sale at Php 700)

I've tried several collagen drinks before, but this one is by far the most delicious! It doesn't have that fishy taste, and I like the melon milkshake flavor! I think I can really drink this everyday and actually finish the box (unlike the other brands that I've tried before).

The Belo Nutraceuticals Collagen Melon Smoothie is infused with high-absorption collagen. Collagen helps decrease fine lines and wrinkles, and restore skin elasticity and suppleness. Best part is it has zero fat, and low in sodium and cholesterol! Can be taken daily, or 2x a day (morning and evening), just empty content and dilute in 250mL cold water.

Will try my best to take these regularly.

I'll update this blog post soon for the results!
