Affordable Henann Resort in Boracay (Php 3000 / night for 2 persons, with buffet breakfast)

Thursday, March 24, 2022

I decided to book for a different resort during my last night in Boracay. I realized that it's a short vacation, onting pasarap is fine.

I already booked for my full stay during the 5-day trip, so I have to make peace with not getting a refund for my last night. Anyway, after 4 days of cold showers in Boracay Midtown, I was really looking forward to a comfortable last night in the island with Henann Lagoon Resort.

Free chocolates in my room when I got back from dinner!

WHERE I BOOKED + ROOM RATE

The night before my flight to Boracay, I was browsing Agoda for my impulsive goal of staying in a resort for the last night of my trip. While checking the hotel rates, I realized that they were fairly priced, but maybe only at that time as everyone's still recovering from the pandemic break. It would have been more practical to have a travel buddy to split the accommodation fees with, but oh well, ginusto ko tong solo traveling!

Like for instance, the Deluxe Room I was able to book at the Henann Lagoon Resort was for only Php 3020 per night. This already comes with all the extra charges, good for 2 persons, and is also inclusive of breakfast buffet!

So imagine that's roughly around Php 1500 per head per night in a beautiful resort. Buffets in big hotels in Manila cost around Php 1000, if not, almost same nadin. Meanwhile, the popular Boracay Henann hotels also offer lunch and dinner buffets at around Php 800 to 900? Onti nalang naka accommodation ka na sa kanila!

So feeling ko naman sulit my Php 3000 stay in Henann Lagoon, considering the beautiful room, the nice view from my balcony, breakfast inclusion, and the free use of the pool.

Aside from the usual complimentary stuff like water and tissue, hotels nowadays also provide masks, wet wipes, and a bottle of alcohol to their guests:

LOCATION

Location wise, I think the Henann Lagoon Boracay has the not so nicest one. There is the Henann Regency, Crystal Sands, and Prime at the beachfront, but Henann Lagoon is located far back with entrance at the main road. Madali sya for the transportation to and from the port.

Aside from the price, I still chose Henann Lagoon because of its distance from my prior accommodation. They also had me at "all rooms have pool view".

Henann Lagoon Resort is located at the main road side of Station 2:

More more lakad to if you want to explore the beachfront or eat at DMall. But for me who really opted to stay in on my last night in Boracay, okay nadin sya. If I have stayed here during my entire trip, mukang tatamarin na ako lumabas  at mag Station 1 sunset, or Boracay food trip.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT THIS RESORT

1. Location. It is really far from Boracay's main areas such as the beach and DMall.

2. As a vegetarian, the buffet breakfast is okay lang for me. But I like their lugaw though! :)

3. This is just minor and I should have expected it nadin, since it's a hotel they also require a deposit of PHP 2000 upon check-in but only have cash and credit card options (no PayMaya, Gcash, etc). I wasn't able to deposit on time coz I was cashless during the whole trip (paid with Gcash or PayMaya on restos and groceries), but they were not so strict about it din naman I guess because I was only there for a night.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS RESORT

1. Rooms are huge, including the bathroom! I super love the view of the pool from my balcony.

Paxie and Nico visited me for happy hour / pool bonding!

2. Everything's clean, from the room to the sheets to the towels.

3. Love that everything's provided for. From towels to toiletries to coffee and tea. Plus drinking water stations are located near the elevators of each floor so you can freely refill anytime and not use up too much plastic!

An Iwata water purifier is located near the elevator of every floor:

4. Super appreciate the helpful staff, especially since my luggage is really heavy

5. Accessible from main road, had a breeze during my pick-up service heading to airport

6. Service is just a call away. Had to ask for late check-out since my pick-up was still at 1pm (it was not granted), but was also able to conveniently order room service lunch

7. Felt safe as a solo traveler

8. Breakfast buffet might be so-so, but I truly love the service. The staff were very attentive to my needs, I had coffee and water refills even before asking for them. Buffet area, utensils and plates, and dining area are also very clean to my standards, a must esp at this time!

Medyo madami nadin tao during breakfast when I was there, but dining area is in an open space so medyo hindi nakakatakot.

If you arrive at the buffet area early, you can sit nearer the pool:

9. Pool access! I was able to bring my friends, enjoyed swimming on the pool, and lounge with our happy hour drinks.

THE VERDICT

No regrets in staying in Henann Lagoon Resort, I really got the value out of what I paid for. I might even consider booking here again if ever I get to go back to Boracay with my senior parents. I am sure they'll love this resort too!

Rooms are really huge and comfortable. I can't emphasize enough how I enjoyed the balcony and the pool view. Service is really nice. Everyone's commendable, and for its fairly affordable price, you'll really feel that you booked in a Station 1 luxury resort at a quarter of its price.

Also, after staying in a budget hotel, I really felt the difference when it comes to security and comfort. The upgrade even just for a night was very much welcome. If you are willing to splurge a little, Henann Lagoon Resort or any Henann property is highly recommended while you're in Boracay.
