The last part of our Gyeonggi-do 2D1N tour with Trazy.com and K Story Tour is the Gapyeong County--home to the popular tourist spots of Korea namely Nami Island, Petite France, and the Garden of Morning Calm.
I've been to the Nami Island several times, with different people and different seasons, but it's my first time visiting when there's peak fall foliage. Our visit was in October 27, and although the island was packed with locals and tourists alike--the sight was worth it!
Nami Island
Nami Island goes by the fairy tale village concept, about an hour plus away from Seoul City. You can DIY and take the train to the ferry that will bring you to the island, or join a Nami Island Tour group like the one I did with Trazy.com. It was so convenient, just following our English-speaking Korean guide Dony's instructions and tips. He took care of getting us our tickets, directing us where to go, etc. Saves time and energy too!
As we all know already, Nami Island is a huge tourist destination in Korea. During our visit, we just took a lot of autumn pictures, had our Korean lunch, and took the Charity Train for an overview of the island. Next time, I hope to visit Nami covered with snow!
Italian Village (Pinocchio) + Petite France (Little Prince)
Just a few minutes away from Nami Island is the new Italian Village, which is located at the same compound as another popular Gapyeong destination: Petite France.
While Petite France features the character from Little Prince, the Italian Village showcases Pinocchio and art by Da Vinci. These sites are loaded with photo zones, spots that will give you a glimpse of these European countries. There's also a cute souvenir shop selling Pinocchio and Little Prince merch. We also had a coffee break right next to shop, just before heading back to our van for Seoul.
Cobblestone streets, and pastels toned structures--It wasn't crowded during our visit, so we easily took lots of pictures!
