After exploring the DMZ, our group traveled to another part of Korea that I've been meaning to go to for the longest time. Anyway, our group went off to Pocheon where we will also spend the night. But before heading to the hotel, we had several stops first (plus dinner!) to maximize our day.
ABOUT POCHEON
Pocheon is a mountainous city located at the northeast of Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. If you search for things to do in Pocheon, the usual sites are outdoor areas where you get to appreciate Korea's natural beauty. Pocheon is about 1+ hours away from Seoul. I am not sure about the public transportations in the area, so in order to maximize your visit, it's best to get a 1-day or overnight tour just like what we had: Gyeonggi-do: DMZ + Pocheon + Nami Island 2D1N Tour from Seoul.

Pocheon Art Valley
We headed to the Pocheon Art Valley next, in perfect timing, just before the sunset. They have a cute smiley yellow monorail that goes up the hill, where we saw the fun art installations that blended well with nature, and the culture center's popular magnificent lake where so many blockbuster Korean dramas were shot (Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Legend of the Blue Sea, Hwayugi, etc).
Too tired to hike? Take the monorail that goes up and down the valley!

Pocheon Hotel Gallery
It was a tiring but satisfying day every time I travel with a packed sched. The group had dinner together, then checked-in our hotel for the night: Pocheon Hotel Gallery.
The hotel is really comfortable, and so spacious too! Not in photo, but I enjoyed my bathroom's big tub, and complete amenities. I also woke up to a nice view of Pocheon's mountains. The breakfast is A+, I would have eaten more if it's not too early to fill up my tummy!
Wish I can stay here for a few more days. It was a truly healing view!
Pocheon Herb Island
Our last stop for this Pocheon Trazy.com tour is a unique island filled with herbs--I can smell them even when I was wearing my mask! It's also a Kdrama location (Oh My Venus (the yarn-scarf scene!), The Producers, Love In Contract), which is always amusing for me! If taking photos is your thing, they have so many photo zones so make sure to come with full camera battery and lots of phone memory space!
