Tang celebrates the greatness of today's kids!

Saturday, June 25, 2011

I always go to fashion events, but that doesn't mean I am limited to blogging about beauty and style finds. That's one of the reasons why I moved my blog to "personal": because my little space here in the internet covers anything and everything that interests me or catches my fantasy--be it food, travel, hobbies, art, and even inspirational thoughts.

So last Thursday morning, rainy and all, my beb Ava and I went to the Tang Galing Mo Kid event in the Filipinas Heritage Library, Makati.

We were greeted with these:

FOODS! :D Great yummy dishes from Via Mare.

An interesting dish: Lumpiang Bacolod with TANG pineapple-orange sauce! Everybody join me: Cooool!

Weird, but it actually tastes great!

Since the concept of the event is very Pinoy, they also served Via Mare's famous bibingka at puto bumbong! :) Kahit busog na, I finished everything padin!

Tang drinks!

Even the loot bags are festive aka pyestang pyesta! ;) Bayong! <3

The program opened with the National Anthem, led by The Concordia Children's Services Choir:

The event's host: Ria Tanjuatco Trillo and her cute daughter!

She is really smart and cute!

Ms. Maribel Sison Dionisio, a Relationship and Parenting Expert and co-founder of the Love Institute, gave a talk on "Empowering Kids: Building The Self Esteem"

Over a cup of coffee, I learned from Ms. Maribel that parenting isn't an easy-pissy task. You are responsible in shaping and bringing out the best in a child, making me look highly at my friend and young mom Ava. Hats off...Nakakabilib sila!

Mr. Alex Dan Tacderas, Marketing Manager for Beverage of Kraft, gave his remarks on the refreshing change the tiny tykes can bring in the community.
Tang also launched their search for SEVEN TANG GALING KIDS. This is to encourage more kids to become involved in their communities.

Big inspiration from the little ones!

Eman Bagual, founder of MY Rights which upholds children's rights, also talked about his youth and how he struggled to help his parents for their day to day survival.

Eman and his mom, who is proud of her son who as a child was able to attend classes and at the same time help his family by selling corn from a kariton on the roads.

Before they commenced the inspiring morning, Tang gave away goodies for everyone!

The bayong was made by Alay Kapwa:

I love recycled goodies :)

Thanks TANG! My family loved me for these, haha!

A cheers for Tang and the kids of today!

Raised our Tang mocktale!

Thank you Jules, my college classmate, for having us in this affair! I missed you!

With Ava! Such a great company to have her. :) And I love the colorful background of the venue!

With the beautiful hosts Ms. Ria and her daughter :)

It was a fun morning--great food and good company, and appreciating our national hero's words that the children are indeed our future--now that made me feel so old noh. Haha! I am sure that this program that TANG launched will tickle the fervour of our kids in being productive Pinoys. A good first step at such a young age! SEARCH FOR TANG GALING KIDS
To encourage more kids to become involved in their communities, Tang launches Search for Tang Galing Kids. Tang believes that despite their age and innocence, the tiny tykes can bring a refreshing change in the community.

The search is open to organizations whose members may nominate as many kids they want. Only one child per organization member is allowed. Each kid corresponds to one entry.  Each entry must have a one-pager story on the life of the kid and the small steps that the kid makes or has made which are inspiring and worth emulating. An official nomination form may be mailed to 5thP Advertising at 55D Matahimik St, Teacher’s Village, West Diliman Quezon City. Entries may also be sent via email through tanggalingkids@gmail.com with the subject Tang Galing Nomination Form. Entries may be sent in from June 23 to August 6, 2011. Seven winners will be chosen as Tang Galing Kids.

The Seven Tang Galing Kids will be announced on August 23, 2011. Each will receive a cash prize which they can use to implement a project of their choice. The winning kids and their nominating organizations will each garner a Php100,000.00 cash prize.

It’s high time for a refreshing and youthful change. Let children shine and show how their little steps can transform into big strides; how these kids’ greatness can make them heroes as they make a difference with Tang.
