If it was indeed the end of the world, how did you spend yours?
Nope, wasn't donned in sparkly dress or polka dots ensemble for New Year's Eve. Paano naman ang New Year ng Crazy Gonzales forever sa house. Thus, the ratty pambahay (na walang kasing comfortable, hehe). We wanted to try yun mga celebration sa labas like Ayala Triangle, MOA, or kung carryballs ng budgey sa isang hotel, pero ang dahilan: Di namin maiwan DOGS namin. Serious!
Kaya siguro naimbento namin ang Cooking Master Chef showdown for media noche, battle between dad, ate and me... Tapos si mom and Cea ang judges.

Who came up with a three-course meal (soup, potatoes, chicken)--Career day!
Dad: (Na may kodigo pa, haha)
Who cooked this really weird egg dish (Me: Dad di ko gets ang concept!) Haha!
And Curry na hindi bagay sa occasion, hahaha! Benta lang ni dad! Kakaiba ang mga trip!
And me, who cooked tomato-pesto pasta!
I don't have a recipe, but I got a lot of help that night from tweeting while cooking, hahaha. I love my hightech generation!

Ang bilis ng oras! Before, nun kid pa ako, ang tagal antayin ng 12, but now kulang ang time! Haha!

No firecrackers or pailaw for the fam this year (kung kelan epic ng year!). The parentals tried to buy kahit sparklers lang sa labasan, but BAWAL na daw magbenta??? Minsan bilib na ako sa Muntinlupa a... Ang bilis magpatupad ng law (plastic bag ban). Infer, maliban sa kapitbahay naming naka score ng Goodbye Philippines (noise pollution)... Ang tahimik kaagad few minutes past 12. Hindi din umusok sa 2nd floor namin unlike the past years. Peaceful New Year. Not sure if it's just the way I wanted, buti nalang ang daming fireworks sa nearby villages (Ayala Alabang siguro to), maganda padin midnight salubong namin. :)
Anyway, on to our family's New Year salubong highlights: KAINAN of course!

Di man ako nag dress up na, made sure cute ang shorts ko hihihi (shorts girl forever!)
Ang masasabi ko lang, kahit simple ng dish ko this year, panalo yun ingredients ko, which I personally bought the day before! Medyo napamahal sa sangkap, pero at least sure delish ang dish, hehe:
Panalo ang parmesan at crunchy garlic! Hehe!
Judges deliberation:
Grabe pala tong chicken ni ate hindi pala chicken breast lang, fillet pala siya na niroll and stuffed with kung ano ano! Sayang hindi ko matikman! ;p Looks delish and fancy though!
Announcement of winnahs! Dad's curry and egg dishes third place lang, halata sa fez ang dismaya hehehe:

Narealize ko, parang sa FASHION lang yan e. Kahit magaganda ang pieces of clothes mo, hindi ibig sabihin winner ka na. Maganda man ang maging outfitey mo, iba padin pag may twist and may dating ang pag put-together mo ng clothes. Kahit anong damit pa yan basta naistyle mo ng bonggels, yun ang real winner!
So ang winner ay ang Chicken, Soup, and Pasta affair ni ate!

ReplyDeleteAng cute naman may prizes pa! :) My family usually wears pambahay clothes lang rin pag sa house lang nag-celebrate ng medya and noche buena. Anyhoo, hindi naman kailangan ng bonggels na outfit basta may makakain and makakapagpray, carry na! :)

Mahirap ata magcontest sa food kasi baka di okay yung gawa nung iba, hahaha, talo! Pero your ate's dish looked yummy nga tlaga!
