Sueño de Espadrilles finds their Solemate

Tuesday, May 01, 2012

I came from flats heaven last Saturday, my kind of place, kulang nalang mag backstroke ako dito:

Spent my early Saturday afternoon in Podium's Borough for a lunch with Sueno de Espadrilles, bloggers, and Yes Pinoy Foundation. SARAP! I love their food, the best nga the mac and cheese :D

Sueño de Espadrilles, the authentic handmade espadrilles from Spain, announces a partnership with YesPinoy Foundation. The tie-up hopes to marry the brand’s fashion-savvy image with helping underprivileged children achieve their dreams. <3

The company, which was established in 2007, introduced authentic, handmade espadrilles from Spain. The materials are sourced from different Iberian regions including Barcelona; La Rioja, Spain’s shoe capital; and Menorca. The soles are made from high quality jute and shaped to perfection by Spanish manufacturers to ensure comfort. From classic espadrilles, SDE carries more designs (wedges, slippers, etc) to cater their clients' needs:

The tie-up with YesPinoy Foundation is Sueño de Espadrille’s way of giving back. YesPinoy Foundation, an organization founded by actor Dingdong Dantes, aims to impart values education to public school youths and underprivileged children. Sueño’s partnership aims to help out-of-school kids in four specific areas across the country and rehabilitate them to becoming contributors to society.

One project, for instance, aims to help musically inclined, out-of-school Badjao children who play around the Manila Bay area using instruments made out of trash. With the tie-up, YesPinoy and Sueño can fund their education under a renowned music teacher.

After lunch, we went to Sueno de Espadrilles posh concept store (also at the Podium) --a hub for teens, yuppies and even noted celebrities looking for the perfect pair of espadrilles. Their colorful selections and variety of styles make them a constant favorite of Manila’s fashionable set.
