Camp Hang Ten!

Monday, August 06, 2012

I was never the girl scout type, but in high school they made us experience camping! I had a great time trying hard to act responsible and palaging handa! Plus, it was an experience to sleep outdoors in a tent with my close friends (and creepy crawlies) after the bonfire! Panalo!

Anyway, now (sadly) the KJ type, at first I was afraidy of what to expect in this Camp Hang Ten event, but naisip ko din gow nalang since I am sure a little challenge on a rainy Saturday means fun!

I was late for the assembly held in the Mega Mall lodge, but buti nakahabol naman sa free shuttle going to the Camp Hang Ten, Il Terrazzo Mall.

Hello Camp Leaders!

Time check: 12:57

My seatmate: Carizza! :)

When we reached the camp, we had food first. Sabi nga nila, pakabusog na for the competition later!
Hi Aivan!

We had fruits (with melted chocolate and cream), sandwiches, and fruit shakes:

Cute bowls with mini payongs:

Then we all got our sash with badges ... Aka assignment of teams:
I was placed in RED TEAM with Kelly Medina and Carizza Chua, with our Team Leader Paul Chuapoco! :) Competitive mode ON!

Then I looked around the campsite to check out narin what to expect lang, and shemay nakaka intimidate lang ang set-up!

Finally, the Camp Counselors gathered and welcomed everyone!

Then they handed each of us our Survival Kits. Afraidy, akala ko may sugatang involved! Lol.

My kit contains a pair of "glasses", body spray, flashlight, compass, hand sanitizer, band aides, rappelling clip, notepad, towel, and a box of matches. Akala ko talaga magbubuild kami ng fire! ;p

It also contains our campsite map!

Camp Leader Kyle De Leon talked about Camp Hang Ten and the new Cotton Project!

"With Cotton Project, Hang Ten bids adieu to the rays of the summer sun and welcomes the refreshing change of weather with rack options for the bold and the adventurous."

Camp Counselor Mikki Galang:

The Cotton Project explores wardrobe dictations fit for braving the wind chills for the anticipated turn of the season. This new line introduces a mélange of updated looks from tops, jackets and layering essentials catering to the youthful demographic of fashion forward go-getters!

Right after that...ON TO THE CHALLENGES!

Station 1: Accessories Making!
Sayang I have no photos of the SIX ACCESSORIES we were required to make! I did not expect na we will have this activity, at sabi ko pa as joke earlier pag may arts and crafts challenge, dun nalang ako! Haha! Anyway, proud of our output, and Red Team finished first! Kami na career!

Next stop...
Station 4: Eating Contest!

Team Leader Paul volunteered for this station! Natakot din me baka kung ano ipakain (vegetarian problems, lol). He threw the ball sa spinning roleta...

...We waited...

...And got Black-Even!

Pag bukas...COOKIES lang pala!!!

"Go Paul, bilisan mo!" Lol.

Bulunan levels, haha!

Then off to Station 5, where we were asked to make our Team Flag! Yey arts and crafts uli! ;p

Carizza showing off the RED TEAM flag! Number 1, woot! Haha, obviously, si Kelly ang may pakana ng aztec-aztecan print design! Haha!

Right after that, we scooted to the Station 2, or Guess the Riddle, na hindi ko man lang nabasa!

Kasi biglang nagbubukas na sila Kelly and Paul ng tiny box...

...Which contains cut-out letters of the alphabet...

And they formed this, aka the answer: COTTON!

Station 3: Takeshi's Castle! Naku ayan na ang physical challenges!

We had to cross these stone barrels...Na may crocodile pang nakaabang!! ;p

And then go acrobatic sa mga gulong (kawawa mga nag wedges!)--sorry na blurry gusto ko lang madocument everything! ;p

Then we formed this COTTON PROJECT puzzle:

And had to topple these scary creatures using kalamansi...Hehe! Eto ata pinaka favorite ko, parang Time Zone!

And finally...Our last stop: Station 6 - Styling Area!

Our Camp Leaders helped us fix our mannequin na parang jumajump shot. :p

Bet ko the backpack! :)

Red Team's output! Our mannequins in all-Hang Ten clothing and accessories (except for the ones we made in the first station!)--every piece accumulated from every station we have accomplished! :)

Aside from the pieces of clothing, we also got numbered badges for our sash to represent every finished station:

Then, the Awarding Ceremony!

One of Red Team's Awards: Paul won the Best Team Leader! Yey! Red Team and proud! Hehe.

And because we were the fastest (and the best! haha) Red Team also won the BEST TEAM! Woot! Shiny addition to my badges (haha, cinareer talaga!)

Yehey! The champs! Ang saya ko na nyan, lol.

With our Camp Counselors, and my team mates Carizza, Kelly, and Paul! :)

Thanks for the awesome day, CAMP HANG TEN! Infer, parang ang tagal ko nang di pinagpawisan ng ganito, lol!
The happy campers:
