Cebu Day 1

Thursday, January 24, 2013

Hello folks!

I realized super tagal na since my last travel kwento! I super missed going on a trip as in plane levels, so I guess in a way birthday wish come true narin that Pax booked me for Cebu's Sinulog ng hindi namin chinecheck na maglaland sha  exactly on my birthday!

Anyway, here's my Cebu Day 1 outfitelles, a.k.a. mag eeroplano ako guyz at early flight kaya susuotin ko muna blanket and bed sheets ko ha, lol:

Glasses - Starfinder
Hoodie - Terranova
T-Shirt - DaKing x Team Manila
Maxi Skirt - Sarah Tirona
Black Sneakers - Landmark

Without the jackey:

Got a new specs to replace yung black ko, although ok pa sha. Sale kasi, and I love the shape and color of this pair. Ok nadin, with a 2.25 na grado, kailangan ko din naman ng glasses all the time anyway.

As usual, nauna ako kay Pax and Mich to reach the airport. Understandable, though, since pinagdrive ako ng dad ko. Usapan was 4am mag meet, but since I live medyo near Terminal 3, I got there few minutes earlier pa.

People watching, witnessed a few airport drama. :p

Pag dating nila Pax and Mich, we checked in agad-agad so we can eat. Di ko sure anong reklamo ko dito sa pic sakin ni Pax, hehehe. Anyway, gamit ko din the new small camera I got--specially bought for trips since ang hirap ng may bitbit na SLR.

We decided to go for the only place that serves kanin:

Buti nalang three isn't a crowd pag sa airplane, so I wasn't separated with the group. Eto ang different ways ng pag agaw at pag tulog nila with my Sleep Care pillow:

Thank you din girls for giving me the window seat. I love my personal space, hehe.

I also distributed the Yolo Bracelets -- hindi kita sa pic but may "cebu" charm sha sa likod. I plan na every time we go on a trip, dadagdagan ko ng charm ito representing the place na pupuntahan namin. :)

Pag asa plane, every time dumadaan na ang food cart, I can't help but order something from the overpriced selection.

Laugh trip lang na the whole flight usapang Life of Pi ang naganap. Kaya din siguro halos dun din nagrevolve ang buong trip nato, haha! Kanya kanya kasing interpretations, sobrang mahabaaang usapan--best siguro with beer. Lol.

Finally! Hello Cebu!

Welcome daw sabi ng Giordano, hehe:

Mich's Dad and Mom picked us up from the airport. :) Cebuana si Mich and she lived most of her life here. Ayos na ayos, may instant tour guide kami!

We got there and maaga pa for hotel check-in, so we decided to go around muna. First time ko in Cebu so I super looked forward to this!
First stop: statue of Lapu-Lapu within the Mactan Shrine:

Tumatabing-ilog, hehehe

Cute niya noh:

Paka-hilig ko noon sa history subject, kaya very amazing lang this place! Sabi sa stone:
"Here, on 27 April 1521, Lapu Lapu and his men repulsed the Spanish Invaders, killing their leader, Ferdinand Magellan. Thus Lapu-Lapu became the first Filipino to have repelled European aggression"

Near the shrines are souvenir shops:

Naalala ko tuloy my quest to buy a ukelele!
Here's a nice stall with guitars, sitars, and other string instruments na mostly pang export pa ang quality!

I love this guitar, but medyo pricey I think around 3k kasi nga pang export. :p

Eto nalang kaya bilhin ko hehehe

Takutan with Pax sa dried palaka na ginawang sling bag. -__- Afraidy!

Our second stop: Philippine Taoist Temple:

I was introduced to Taoism way back in high school, and kaya tandang tanda ko sha hanggang ngayon kasi lakas maka-cool ng beliefs ng religion nato, to the point na halos lahat kami nag balak magpacovert dito, hehehe. Seriously though, till now naaalala ko na Taoism believes in Wei Wu Wei, or to go with the flow of nature. So imagine mga high schoolers na pasaway hearing this teaching, so every exam nalang maririnig mo "Guys! Wei Wu Wei nalang!" Hehehe.

Parang Great Wall of China!

See?

We rested for a while with this view, and dahil sobrang init din.

Then we started walking again...

Ang photogenic noh?

After the tour, we decided to have our lunch na. I forgot the name of this place though, but parents ni Mich ang nag suggest and masarap nga naman ang food! First meal in Cebu din to!

FTW ang prices! Tama nga sinabi nila na cheaper ang foods in Cebu. (FTW din yung biglang may hamburger sa ulam list, hehehe)

What I had:

Gutom? Hehehe.

After another long drive na panay ang tulog namin, we finally reached our hotel!

Pax handled the check-in. Si Niche may Christmas gift samin ng hotel accommodation--thank you so much dude!

I think we slept and settled in our hotel room for the rest of the afternoon, tapos saka nalang namin nadecidean to go out for dinner and malling.

Our humble hotel lobby:

 Cool candies and alak store:

Biglang may kagulo sa other side, and saw these dancers in front of the Island Souvenirs shop:

Ftw ang giant pictures ni Kryz Uy! :)

We decided to get a Sinulog shirt for the Sunday festivities, and availed nadin Island Souvenir's Cut & Style pakulo for only 50 bucks

The different styles:

Kuya and my fringed tee. Very hulk lang ang peg ko, hehehe.

Saw these Santo Ninos on display inside the mall:

Super daming klaseng Santo Nino, some with really peculiar clothes and faces, while others have interesting backdrops like this one na painted wood na parang antique na. I have this thing for religious paraphernalia, reminds me of my late lola's bedroom in the province. Pero minsan afraidy din me. :p

We had dinner in Mooon Cafe, na Cebu-based restaurant na parang Mexicali

Shakes for everyone, detox muna at ineexpect na naming panay inom na for the next days of this trip, hehe

Pati food namin mismo detox-mode, hehe:

Ayala Terraces:

It was a steady lang first day, pero ok rin at marami-rami narin kaming nagawa while trying to settle in. Capped the night in our hotel room with mugs of coffee (and tea for the two), tapos TV nalang till we fell asleep.
