Keeping In Touch

The past days, it was all about my high school friends. Other than beach bumming in Boracay, we also had dinners, wedding-planning hangouts (magiging bridesmaid nako!), and our usual Christmas celebration. The others, kahit nagpuputukan na sa labas, even met up for New Year's Eve! Anyway, kahapon it was our balikbayan's last night so we planned on gathering one more time to meet her in Resorts World before her flight. Ang cute noh! When I checked my photos, I have a cute photo bomber na pose na pose din! May look-away pa siyang nalalaman, haha! And always nakatingin sa aking Zalora Monk's Shoes! :D

Anyway, sharing not-so-secret tips on how my high school barkada stayed intact even after college, and even now with kaniya kaniyang work life:

Sa totoo lang, even amongst the Barx (what we call our group) na taga dito nalang sa Pilipinas, we still find it so hard to consistently hangout because of our different schedules. After high school, the only thing that's consistent is our non-overlapping scheds and ever-changing career decisions. But with effort, kahit may lawyer, doktora, government employee, banker and blogger (naks!) pa sa group--we find ways to reconnect. We're lucky for all the social media tools available now so we can have virtual kwentuhan at kamustahan. My favorite though is traveling together, even once in 3 years lang, it helps in catching up and re-getting to know an old friend. We also make sure to be there during annual Christmas parties, dinners for passing the boards / licensure exams, and weddings! Different partners come and go in the group, and we will never get tired of all the throwback stories na kami kami lang din ang natatawa at nakakarelate, but the most important part is that at this age we still continue sharing and making more memories. Together.
