Book & Borders Library / Cafe in QC

Wednesday, July 29, 2015

It's everyone's dream: a cafe inside a library, or a library inside a cafe. Earlier, I went to Manila's newest concept coffee shop Book & Borders in Tomas Morato. I don't care if it's too far for a south kid like me, I wanted to see it for myself! :)

Located in Tomas Morato, Book and Borders Cafe aims to put together two of our favorite past times: reading while enjoying a cup of coffee.

Went to the launch with Paul and Seph:

And fellow YA books lover Trice!

Unlike the usual mainstream coffee shops we go to in malls, Book & Borders turned their space into something that is more relaxed.

With these cozy and inviting couches, the cafe encourages their customers to go through their extensive selection of books, and take their time to hangout and read.

Here are some of the titles I've spotted earlier:

They even have fairly new titles that are in my "to-read list", like The Geography of You and Me.

Meanwhile, here's how you can borrow a book. It reminds me of our school lib, hehe!

The best part is that the cafe also have book stands available for their customers, to make reading much easier!

If you're a "slow reader" like me (actually, inaabsorb ko kasi talaga yung book e, hehe!).. Take note of this cool service from Book & Borders:
Book stand and bookmark it photos from Book & Borders' Facebook.

Of course, here are the food selections!

Aside from muffins, breads, cupcakes, pies, tarts, squares, cakes (Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake!), and doughnuts (whew!), Book & Borders also serves more filling options like pasta (Truffle Mushroom Pasta, Tuyo Pasta), sandwiches (Beef Pastrami Panini), and even salads and breakfast options. They also have different coffee and smoothies in their extensive menu.

If you're there to use your gadgets though (huhu :p), the cafe also provides several sockets where you can charge your phones or laptops.

New tambayan, guys? :)
