Cream Silk Transformations #ModernFilipina

Monday, January 25, 2016

Witnessed something new last January 23. Cream Silk launched their newest campaign "Cream Silk Transformations: Spotlight on the #ModernFilipina" with a one-of-a-kind event. Aside from the usual programs, it is also a fair and a magazine shoot!

“Gone are the days of the Maria Clara, as women are slowly climbing up the ranks and embracing bigger and better roles for themselves. Today, the modern Filipina has become both a spotlight and a beacon,” shared Gina Lorenzana, Unilever’s Vice President for Personal Care. “She has evolved into a fearless and trailblazing individual determined to realize her dreams and make a positive mark in the world.”

World Trade Center Tent is packed not only with bloggers and media people, but also with beauty enthusiasts, and women young and old for this whole day event.

Cream Silk collaborated with the country’s top magazines – Cosmopolitan, Meg, MEGA, Metro, Preview and Yes! to set-up their own booths.

Goers can attend the talks and participate in the activities that can empower and equip them with everything they need as they kick off their own transformations!

There was a talk on how to project yourself well in front of the camera:

Personal style 101:

There's a booth where you can project and have your picture taken (ganda ng lighting!).

Photo shoot with professional photographer Sara Black, no less.

Hair and makeup makeover stations:

And my favorite, Meg's face chart makeup coloring activity where you get L'Occitane or a makeup loot when you submit your finished project! :)

Jaja busy with her eyeshadow techniques, hehe!

My work, feeling Cara Delevingne! Haha.

The Cream Silk lounge:

I was able to try the hair assessment test, where I found out my hair type and product line that will answer my hair concerns:

Was always worrying for my excessive hair fall, so the Cream Silk Hair Fall Defense was recommended to me. Can't wait to try them!

Hangout with Jaja while waiting for the program:

They had a free flowing bar and roving food:

Hi Paxie!

With Jaja, Arnie, Ate Jen, and Pax!

Then finally, the program started! Sarah Meier as the event's host:

Myrza Sison of Cosmopolitan Philippines:

The audience was then treated to the first ever live cover shoot experience to unveil the new roster of Cream Silk Modern Filipinas!

It was so candid!

Ang ganda padin talaga ni Heart Evangelista!

Sayang those were my only pictures before I left for another lakad with my Ate.

The photos taken that night will also appear on the covers of the publications' March issues.

Rachelle Ann Go for YES!
Yassi Pressman for COSMOPOLITAN

To add to the already impressive line up, Cream Silk also welcomed home Pia Wurtzbach, on her first Philippine appearance as Ms. Universe!

Meanwhile, I'd say that I am a Modern Filipina because I am not afraid to pursue my passion, even though this means going through the road-less-traveled. I started online selling, blogging, and even organizing an all-bloggers event without any "idol" to look up to, or track to follow. I learned from experience, and used my mistakes to become better. It is scary, but it is also very fulfilling.

Your turn! Share your own experience on social media by posting “One of my #CreamSilkTranformations in 2016 is to___________.” Let us join Cream Silk and these Modern Filipinas in inspiring and empowering others to experience their own transformations!
