Humans Of Makati

I like Brandon Stanton's Humans of New York. It's one of my long-time most shared and followed Facebook page that I will never get tired of. I think it's a unique way of showcasing portrait photography - "with a heart" and soul. HONY has the perfect formula: Relatable stories, tidbits that inspire me, and thoughts that provoke and move. 

Adapting the concept to the local setting, I find Humans of Makati a genius. Bat di ko naisip to level. Haha! 

I went to the launch last week, but was a bit late for the actual program. The photos and stories are on-display naman, so I looked around and read each of the caption - to me, this is the essence of the whole "Humans Of" project.

I have lived in the south all my life, but happenings, my friends, and most opportunities I received are all in Makati. It felt more "home" to me in this way. (yas!)

The exhibit features the photos of international documentary photographer Xyza Cruz Bacani. An interesting tidbit is this is her first colored exhibit!

Home to over 500,000 people, and the preferred business address to a lot of companies, it is easy to get lost in Makati. But knowing the people, what they do and even their random thoughts allow us to get to know a city more in a deeper level. 

Humans of Makati will run till February 12, 2016 only, at the Ayala Triangle Gardens.
