Cebu Food Crawl with My Sun Cellular Fam!

Monday, December 18, 2017

There are things I can't help but associate in certain places. Like coffee when I go to Davao, and shopping whenever I'm in Japan (haha!). When it comes to Cebu, it's always good food!

The second leg of my recent Visayas trip was in the beautiful, sunny south of the Philippines. Cebu is the first capital of the country, and actually Cebu City is our oldest city! I like going here because they have the best of both worlds: a lively city life and a well-preserved natural environment. Cebu is also very rich in history! On my first time in this province, there's so much old houses, monuments, and churches that we visited. Later on, I still have so much to see like the newer Sirao Garden and Temple of Leah. But always, it is not a Cebu trip if I don't get to try newly discovered local restos, cafes, bakeries, and bars!

With my food crawl buddies Pax and Kristine! We are all Sun Cellular ambassadors, and they sent us to Cebu to cover the annual Cebu Food Crawl... Yey!

Hahaha look at my curious face, lels! We were able to upload our social media updates real time, thanks to our Sun Cellular connection!

Without further ado, here are the restaurants that we were able to try with the Cebu Bloggers Society during our 3.5 days in Cebu!

The perfect ice breaker! Yummy cocktails and finger foods with the view of the beach at Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan:

Best of the best from the streets of Cebu during our dinner in Cebu Parklane International Hotel:

Ahhh finally, pure vegetarian heaven! My kind of jam during the whole food crawl was our meat-free lunch at The Detox Bar:

My day is not complete without coffee and sweets! Thank you 10 Dove Street Confectionery:

A segue from our itinerary, nightcap and bonding with Kristine in Cebu's Korean cafe Sunday 2pm:

Break from the Filipino foods! Fancy Japanese feast at Sushisake at Radisson Blu Cebu:

A favorite night is when there's wine, paella, and tapas! Spanish dinner at the Montebello Villa Hotel:

Unique aesthetics overload, food blogging 101, and delicious sweets at The Pyramid:

Fine finale in #CebuInstaFiesta at Ayala Center Cebu:

Le Verdict.

Personally, if I will go back to Cebu at my own expense, I think I will go back and stay at the Crimson Resort and Spa in Mactan because of the beautiful view of the beach + overall ambiance. I will dine again in The Detox Bar because they introduced me to so many vegetarian food options, the yummiest Sesame Crusted Tofu, vegan sisig and bagoong that I was only able to try now after 10+ years of being a vegetarian! For coffee, I will go back to 10 Dove Street Confectionery for their variety of cakes and pastries options. Plus, the shabby chic cafe is my kind of chill place. Then for dinner, will make sure not to miss Montebello's Spanish Night just because I am a sucker for paella! And of course, I will most prob go back to The Pyramid just because of how their restaurant looks! Will also make sure to try the other dishes in their menu.

During our short stay in Cebu, we were also able to meet some of our Cebu-based online friends! Sabi ko nga sa Instagram, busog na busog ang tiyan at puso! ❤

We also met a lot of new friends in blogging through the Cebu Bloggers Society! Thank you so much for welcoming us!! Special thanks to Sinj of @thelibotero!!

I was away for a week, so I made sure to constantly send photos to our family's FB groups for my mom's peace of mind (hehe). I also posted a lot of the delicious foods and beautiful restos we were able to try while in Cebu. For two years now, I am connected online through my Sun Cellular Postpaid at wala akong masabi! There may be areas with poor connection, but most of the time super okay ang experience ko with Sun. In fact, kakarenew ko lang uli ng plan ko! Minsan nga sa friends ko may venue na ako lang ang may signal, haha!

And so that's it for my last trip of the year! This is a super biglaang flight, and definitely super sulit coz I was able to appreciate AND showcase our country more in my blog and Instagram. Almost everybody knows how much I love Korea and Japan, but pag sariling atin na ang ipopost ko, iba yung sense of pride ko na grabe lumalaban talaga tayo in terms of being a good destination for travels!

I hope these recent Bohol-Cebu posts will inspire you to add our own places here in the Philippines in your 2018 bucket list! Explore the world, but let's never forget our own! ❤
