Why I was in Cebu Last Week + Meaningful Travels with AirAsia RedTalks Season 2!

Monday, February 26, 2018

I have nothing but good words for the online travel show "Red Talks" by AirAsia which they released last year. Each of the 6 episodes I tried to catch online were inspiring, tackling wide topics including AirAsia's founder Tony Fernandes' story, the wonders of Yogyakarta (on my bucketlist now), and my favorite, the last episode, which is a tribute to all travelers from different walks of life. Aside from the great stories, I also love the visual treats, the script, and how the host Ms. Daphne Oseña-Paez narrates with so much sincerity!

This year, AirAsia returns with another RedTalks with Daphne! And I couldn't get any more excited for a season two!

Ultimate purpose of the quick Cebu trip is to attend the launch of AirAsia RedTalks Season 2, but of course I took initiative and visited other parts of Cebu with fellow blogger Rochelle! Will dedicate a separate post on where we went near the city!

The press launch was held at the Twilight Roof Deck of Bai Hotel in Cebu last Feb 22, graced by AirAsia Philippines Chairperson Maan Hontiveros, AirAsia Philippines CEO Captain Dexter Comendador and AirAsia Foundation’s Executive Director Mun Ching Yap. Aside from Manila bloggers flying in to witness the launch, we were also with Cebu and Davao bloggers!

AirAsia Philippines CEO Captain Dexter Comendador: "AirAsia is a sociable and innovative brand and we embrace social media not only to engage our fans but also to inspire and connect with our guests. With RedTalks, we are bringing back the era of talk TV and magazine shows to online audience with a refreshing approach using a platform that has become so effective and popular."

I have to say, I missed the days when I watch an episode of F and learn so much from these magazine shows! It's time to bring this format back on a different platform, kudos to AirAsia for pioneering on this!

AirAsia RedTalks host Daphne Oseña-Paez: "The quality of stories and the online engagement we got last year when RedTalks was launched have been overwhelming. For this new season, we aim to raise the level of discussion and cover a wide range of topics to engage our audience and inspire them to have meaningful connections."

This is the real #TravelGoals for me! Binge on the RedTalks Season 1 episodes on AirAsia's Facebook page!

The night also presented a preview of the coming 6 new episodes for AirAsia RedTalks Season 2:

We also got an exclusive sneak peek of the show’s pilot episode titled “Sweet Connections”.

Daphne travels to Davao with Chef JP Anglo who has been regarded as one of the new generation "rock star chefs" because of his flair for creating edgy dishes with strong local Filipino identity.

They talk about creating something fresh and new using the award winning Malagos chocolates and include it in AirAsia’s in-flight menu called Santan in April. Exciting! But before we have that, we were also able to try the healthy and delicious Malagos dark chocolates of Davao!

The night ended with festivities and travel contests... And I am so so ecstatic when I got in our room and received a message from another blogger friend Shari that my name was announced as one of the bloggers joining the RedTalks team to BALI for a shoot! OMG!!!
