More from yesterday's shoot/interview

Friday, June 18, 2010

We were on our way out of the Manila Times school section of the building, towards the kainan (canteen) when I realized I want a photo by the huge tarpaulin! ;p

Everyone took turns posing with the backdrop. It would have been nice to have a background in Journalism in a real publication. It was genius! Internship year-round! I always think that if only I knew long ago (back in high school) that I'll be an accessories designer, it would have been great to take a fashion course in college. If only it was uso (a trend) even way back. Now, fashion schools (with as in 4-year curriculum) are sprouting everywhere! Also, other specialty schools are all the rage...say, Enderun for the aspiring chefs--high school graduates of this time are so lucky! :-)

Anyhoo, I enjoyed being a traditional UST journalism graduate. A writer, wow. Haha! Even though I wasn't able to apply what I learned in my four years in college (apply, as in, make a living and earn out of it)...since I also stopped my freelancing/contributor stint long time ago...It's nice that I met a lot of people from my Candy Mag writing years back, and met people from it like Manila Times girls Shy and Jen. =) Candy continues to feature my accessories, so even though I don't write for them anymore, I think it's fate that I did so before, so that they'll get to know me and my online shop. =) I think it's all meant-to-happen chain reaction of events. I love Candy for supporting me and my passions--be it writing or designing/selling! :)

What I wore for the shoot/interview yesterday was a play with color blocks (red vest, royal blue long top). I would have worn yellow shoes and officially look like our country's flag (hehe)...but decided I am already weird as is. So I opted for a leather school shoes--hah! Dust off the old-school comfy loafers! ;p Anyway, I actually chose the bold contrast because, I don't know, they look so school-y when put-together. =p Accessorized with layered necklaces plus the ever so school-y geek glasses. ;)

For the students, so how's school so far? :-) I envy you youngsters! :-) I'll see you on our meet-ups! Heeh!

  1. I definitly agree... there are so many chain-reactions in our life, even if you can't imagine it in the beginning.
