Everyone's heading to Boracay today or tomorrow for the Laboracay, while ako self-imposed stuck sa city to finish more BU assignments with Pax before the big day! Kelan ba nag start ang Laboracay "trend"? When we went there last weekend, ang daaami nang tao... Paano pa kaya ngayon? Although mejo mesa-claustro ako most of the time, mukhang masaya din naman! So if you're going to this big beach party, enjoy! And iinom nyo nalang ako a! Haha!

I feel dyahe to take beach ootds... Naalala nyo my Zambales trip early this month, ni-isa I wasn't able to take beach outfit photos! Ang ganda ganda ng lugar, but medyo nahihiya ako mag posing, maliban sa nakakatamad din, haha! In Boracay last weekend, though, I was lucky to be with my MadhouseMNL team na ang buhay ay taking videos and photos! Swerte pa, the team headed to the secluded Puka Beach.. Kaya nakapag photo op ng maayos and wala masyadong tao! :D Emote time!

Btw, I got lighter hair! Ash brown for a change... I usually go for reddish shade or mahogany, but for this summer, nakinig ako sa tip ni Ms. Rose of Juro Salon in the Fort. I dyed my hair in another place, but ang galing ng advice of Juro I think bumagay nga sa color ko this lighter tone... Well sana! Still naninibago pako, haha.:)

Water resistant watch--my new favorite aqua watch from Veloci Time. Will take this to all my Summer 2014 adventures!

Maxi skirts na ang aking summer uniform! They are comfy alternative cover-up nadin while strolling the stations or taking the tric to the Puka Beach (yup you can go to this quiet area of Boracay by riding a tricycle lang for only Php150 / ride or minsan they charge Php35 / head)

Yun lang! Still dreaming of the sand, sun, and sea...

Century Superbods 2014

I still can't get over last weekend's adventure with my MadTV family. I had the chance to cover a big event in Boracay! Our goal was to take part in the challenges of the Century Superbods 2014 finalists--mula sa airport till their "coronation night". So instead of joining my blog friends Sarah and Paul sa afternoon bloggers flight, Kaloy, David, Rob and I dared to join the early flight sched just to cover the activities and be part of the challenges as well. Buti nalang di talaga ako contestant, less pressure. Haha!

More kwentos on this trip sa ibang post na (mahaba haba!).

For now, here are the winners of the Century Tuna Superbods 2014! Congrats guys!

With my co-host for MadTV.ph-slash-new bro in the blogging world David Guison!

Backstage pass! We were able to access this off-limits area to the public, and felt the last minute jitters of the Century Superbods finalists before they get on the stage:

Aside from the contest, another highlight of the event was the unveiling of the "new John Lloyd Cruz"! With his new hunk packaging, I am sure JLC will be taking more challenging (and sexy?) roles and endorsements! Of course, charm parin nya talaga na laughtrip sha--he went out of the stage sexy dancing, haha!

View from my hosting area/media stage. It was a fulfilling work, hindi ko akalain na I'll be doing something like this in this lifetime! My deepest gratitude goes to the Madhouse MNL team, Century Tuna, and Fuentes PR! I love you guys, thank you!

More kwentos soon! For now, check out the hashtag #centurysuperbods for other event photos, and www.centurytuna.ph to find out more on how you can get that superbod in just 6 weeks! ;)

Also, catch MadTV.ph tonight for our event coverage!
Pinaghirapan namin yan, literal! Haha! :D Watch kayo a! :)

Where to Next?

Monday, April 28, 2014

Naalala ko the last time I had the SepAnx for a place was the morning we were about to leave New York . Parang sumisikip yung chest ko (OA, haha), tapos di ata ako makahinga (ng slight, hehe). I fought off the blues by just being grateful for the chance to travel to a beautiful place, and by thinking Where to next?

Anyway, I got this cool "passport" blazer from Choies.com, a perfect piece of clothing for the travel bugs like me! A reminder of how I want to fill up my actual passport with more destinations--both local and international!

Last weekend, I had the chance to go to Boracay again after 3 or 4 years. The last time I had been there, napaka tourist / bagets mode ko pa nun. We rode the ATV, had photos with the giant bat (haha), nag zipline, helmet dive, paraw, and of course--pumarty sa gabi with the barkada. BUT for last weekend's Boracay, I went with my MadTV family for an all-expense paid trip, though it was a bit more for work. I did spiels with my new bro in the blogging industry David...from the airport, to the plane, and even sa white sands of this beautiful beach! The best yung simultaneous-spontaneous hosting namin during the Century Tuna Super Bods event! Kanerbyos but I love the challenge as well!

During our last day, Sarah was set to leave the island earlier then my flight, by early as in 4am palang she left the hotel na. I heard her leave our room, and dun ko nafeel uli that SepAnx for a place and the tinge of sadness that I'll be leaving it narin soon. I know Boracay can be passe or nakakasawa na to a lot of people, but it has always been one of those destinations that I look forward to go back to again and again and again, even with different sets of people, especially when summer hits the country. I got over my little drama by just enjoying my last few hours in paradise, and, again, asking myself ...Where to next?

Excited for my next Summer 2014 adventures!!!

I travel not to go anywhere, but to go.
I travel for travel's sake.
The great affair is to move.

Carefree's Say No To #PantyWhining Campaign

Thursday, April 24, 2014

For us girls, natural na na we always find time to refresh...but sometimes freshening up is not enough to make us feel totally fresh (daming fresh!). Most of us girls may have only gotten used to keeping ourselves fresh from the waist up, while just tolerating that icky, unfresh feeling that also happens "down there".

As a brand that understands the importance of everyday freshness, CAREFREE® has embarked on a mission to help make girls truly experience what total freshness feels like so they can make the most of everyday. Hence, last March, CAREFREE® launched the PantyWhiners series, three online videos aimed at making girls everywhere realize the importance of taking care of what's down there. Through the use of three pantywhining characters - Wetty Betty, Smelly Kelly, and Itchy Trixie, CAREFREE hopes to educate girls not just on the relevant issues of everyday wetness, odor, and itchiness, but also on solutions they can do so they don’t have to live with these hassles anymore.

One of the ways by which we can keep fresh down there is by using CAREFREE® liners everyday as part of our daily morning ritual. With CAREFREE®, girls can enjoy morning fresh panty feeling all day because it absorbs everyday wetness and odor, so we don’t have to worry about unfreshness issues down there.

The Dove Beauty Patch

Monday, April 21, 2014

Here's my picture taken during the Dove Summit by professional photographer Pilar Tuason! Lahat kaming guests, after they made us remove our makeups, were lead to an impromptu photo shoot! Nobody expected this, kaya ako naka t-shirt lang (haha). I am actually happy with the turnout... The event was really uplifting, read more on the 2-day beauty summit HERE and HERE.

And now, Dove is at it again! Releasing another viral-worthy video wherein psychologist and New York Times best-selling author Dr. Ann Kearney-Cooke (Ph.D., Counseling Psychology) guided an experiment with Dove's Beauty Patch.  Watch how the body image and self-esteem of the participating women were affected while wearing the patch:

"When a woman feels beautiful, she radiates happiness and confidence, which inspires her life in a significant way,” said Dr. Kearney-Cooke.  “These women, like so many others, struggle to recognize their own beauty and it severely affects their daily lives. This ground-breaking experiment was designed to illustrate that beauty is a state of mind and that the power to feel beautiful comes from within.”

Palm Sunday was a day of love (sorry ang cheesy wala na akong maisip! Haha!) for the family. As planned, we booked a staycation at the homey Somerset Olympia Makati so we can have an excuse to have dinner in Conti's (where dad's surprise birthday was held). But before that, so the sisters went ahead and checked-in on time. When I got there, the room was invaded na... Thus #BloggerProblems ang ganap that I don't have a choice but take pictures of our upgraded room (thank you!) with "personal touch" na, haha!

Nice kitchen / counter area where--hindi lang ref and initan ng water ang provided--kundi SETS of kubyertos, plates, bowls, a neat sink, and a MICROWAVE! ;) Lovet.

Our desk and TV area:

The rents with Cea enjoying afternoon TV:

So, bilang personal space kid forever, I occupied this tiny but lovely couch-corner (with divider, hehe)

And then spent hours here in the pool area before we went to Palm Sunday mass and then before the "game plan"!

I went ahead sa party venue to fix the set-up and welcomed the early guests, while Cea and Ate picked up the Beatles cake and cupcakes (party souvenirs). Dad is the BIGGEST Beatles fan na I know--A big influence in my music-life. I love the band nadin because dad overplayed these guys ever since kid pa ako! "Black bird singing in the dead of niiiight..."

The hardest part in holding a surprise birthday is keeping the kids inside the function room, haha! Ate talking to the hyper pamangkins, involving them in the game plan to surprise Lolo Mon:

Sinisilip nila from the second floor if anjan na si dad, haha:

My favorite part was when dad entered the venue, clueless! Tatawa-tawa pako while taking this vid, but in actual, choking na ako nyan trying hard not to look like a crybaby hehehe:

Dad thanking all our relatives for being there! :)

After eating (sarap ng Conti's food!), Cea prepared this super nice vid with dad's throwback photos and Beatles songs sa background music.. And of course the highlight, messages from people in dad's life like our brothers/Feast builders sa church, and relatives abroad! Remember my Maryland family? :) I miss my teenager cousin and of course my UP lookalike cousin!

Talagang ma hawak kay mom while watching, dad? Haha!

As seen sa vid, my musical cousins sang Beatles songs for dad. Dad also went onstage--being his usual mic-hogging self, and also sang along. Si mom pinipilit din kumanta but ayan ngiti ngiti lang sa stage (alam ko na san ako nag mana hahaha)

With the birthday boy and the organizers, hehe!

Thanks to all our family and friends who celebrated with us! :) LOVE LOVE LOVE, indeed!

The next day....

The sisters went ahead, to their offices, since Monday nun. We had the buffet all to ourselves! Somerset's breakfast buffet is clean and yum!

Ended the staycation and dad's extended celebration by the pool. Ako lang naman nag swim nyan, while si dad and mom binantayan lang ako while reading the newspaper, parang bata baka malunod? Haha!

Btw, the title of this post is the first line of Paul Mccartney's (of The Beatles) When I'm 64. Dad said Paul Mccartney composed this song when he was a teenager palang (and peak pa ng band nila when he recorded it), and nung mag 64 na nga siya, coincidentally, his wife left him (ang sad!). Dad turned 60 palang, enjoying his (small) discounts with his new senior ID (first time he used it was in the grocery and got a whopping Php 35 off sa kanyang total--wow big diff! Joke). We guarantee him, though, that he will not go through a Paul Mccartney four years from now. ;)

Happy birthday to the most selfless and loving and funny guy that I know! :)
