I just finished the Dance Dance Dance book I instagramed a few days ago (Murakami)... And as usual, I can't decide on its ending's interpretation. I feel that I missed out on a single detail, a hidden meaning, or maybe I accidentally skipped a page of the book while trying not to fall asleep while reading at wee hours? :p Anyway, Murakami always leaves that impression to me after each novel--that feeling na bitin, to use my favorite author's words: "loose ends".
Last Saturday, I unbelievably got a lot of bad news of death from different people from different aspects of my life--some mejo distant, others from people close to me. It was scary (bat sabay-sabay?), and also all of same cause (heart attack), but more so, an eye opener on life's limit.
Leaving you with some of my favorite quotes from Dance, Dance, Dance:
"One day it stopped, as if the film simply slipped off the reel."
"Life is a lot more fragile than we think. So you should treat others in a way that leaves no regrets. Fairly, and if possible, sincerely."
"Dance," said the Sheep Man. "You gotta dance. As long as the music plays. You gotta dance. Don't even think why."
Have a beautiful life, kids.:)
