Chuva Choo Choo: Finally, A Musical Featuring Vehnee Saturno Songs!

Friday, August 14, 2015

I am all for plays and musical. I enjoy them. Recently, the family watched my cousin in Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady The Musical. It was fun, entertaining, and something different from our usual family time. I am so excited then that they're releasing a new musical play soon.

Chuva Choo Choo - The Mr. Kupido Musicale will feature songs by Sir Vehnee Saturno, the songwriter behind hugot songs Till My Heart Aches End, Forever's Not Enough, and Wala Na Bang Pagibig. For sure this is going to be exciting as your barkada KTV party!

Sir Toots Tolentino introducing the venue for the play, Ayala's newest Power Mac Spotlight - a 300-seater black box theater! Exciting!

Power Mac Spotlight is located at the Circuit Makati, the venue for several concerts, music festivals, sports, and other outdoor events for the past years.

Now this multi-purpose venue with flexible seating set-up and lights and sounds system is patterned to compliment interactive, dynamic, fresh, and innovative performances. It is designed to showcase diverse Filipino talents and numerous entertainment options.

It looks beautiful and fancy to me!

Cocktails perspective:

We approached Power Mac Center because we wanted a partner known for their inherent inclination for culture and the arts; and a partner with a passion for innovation and creativity. And there’s no better way to usher in the promise of the development than with a creative endeavor featuring some of the biggest powerhouses in the entertainment industry” ends Mel Ignacio, Ayala Land Strategic Landbank Management Group AVP.

Back to the play, which will also be the launching show of the theater, Chuva Choo Choo - The Mr. Kupido Musicale is directed by seven-time Palanca winner George de Jesus III. The story revolved around amateur singing contestants, impersonators, and sisterhood's misadventures as they quest for stardom and true love.

Sir Vehnee Saturno, who has been writing songs for decades already... And still don't feel like stopping anytime soon. Sobrang inspiring!

During the press launch, we were serenaded by some of the cast members!

Cheeno Macaraig sang the Jessa Zaragosa Bakit Pa.

Heartwrenching Someone's Always Saying Goodbye rendition of Morisette.

And, Miss Saigon  Graduate Joanna Ampil sang Hanggang Saan.

Super bitin! :) Chuva Choo Choo - The Mr. Kupido Musicale is set to open next month. Catch the first four shows on September 25, 26 (3pm/8pm), 27 (3pm), and its second run in January 2016.
