Can't believe it has been 6 years since I last visited the island of Coron. But since then, every time I get asked about my favorite beach, it is always Palawan that's my top of mind. I always have fond memories in this beautiful island, from its less crowded beaches, dramatic sunsets, to crystal clear turquoise water. I was so excited to go back for the third time!
TAG Resort has a total of 112 rooms and suites, and they have their own swimming pool, bar, restaurant, coffee shop, and convenience store in the complex. The place is very lively and colorful, a beautiful contrast from our rainy arrival.
Traveling to Coron was a breeze compared to my other local flights the past months. We traveled from Manila to Busuanga via Philippine Airlines. Here are the current requirements, but make sure to check for any updates before your trip!
• Minors (11 years old and below) are allowed as long as they are accompanied by fully vaccinated parents or legal guardian.
• Proof of booking to a DOT accredited accommodation.(Upon entry at Busuanga Airport)
• RT-PCR negative test done at DOH-licensed laboratory taken 72 hours prior to travel
My Room in TAG Resort:
TAG Resort has 5 room types, from superior room with garden view, standard room, to deluxe duplex suites. You can check room photos and other details of that here, or their Agoda listing for the price.
I was assigned to Tadhana H (Currently at Php 7900+/night in Agoda), one of TAG Resort's beautiful deluxe duplex suite that has a pool access! The highlight of this casita is it has its own sunning deck and semi private pool area where you can just chill with friends or have your me-time. I was neighbors with Paxie, so we even accessed each other's rooms through the pool area, hehe.
Sleep was also very, very comfortable in Tadhana H, with the king-sized bed, soft sheets, and the bed weather. Room is also very spacious, clean, and complete. I had enough space for my things, and enjoyed staying in with my hot cup of coffee from the room's coffee capsule machine.

Welcome to my casita! |

Space inside the room was well-maximized |
|
Bathroom is huge! There are two marble sinks in between, separating the shower to the toilet area. |
|
There's a sliding door from the shower area leading straight to the pool! How cool, noh! They also use refillable bottles for their shampoo and body wash. |

Everything's neat and bright |
Things To Do In Coron:
After all the food trip and swimming in TAG Resort, make sure to avail a Coron island hopping tour. TAG Resort partnered with Bathala Travel and Tours to provide individual and group tours for their guests. We availed the Coron Super Ultimate Tour, which included Kayangan Lake, Barracuda Lake, Twin Lagoons, Atuayan Beach, Coral Garden, Skeleton Wreck, and CYC Beach.
Super convenient, and even with the weather conditions, the tour went well and was super fun and safe for everybody!

Weather app said that it will rain the whole day, so thankful we had a few hours of sun to enjoy Coron! Second photo was in Maquinit Hot Spring, peak tita moment! Perf way to relaaax after a day of swimming and hiking.

What I Like About Tag Resort:
1. Accessibility! TAG Resort is conveniently located just 20 minutes away from the airport.
The resort is also close to Palawan tourist attractions like the Puerto Princesa Underground River, Dicanituan Beach, Bali Beach and CYC Beach, as well as Mount Dipulao, Dipulao Mangrove Forest and Dipulao Cove.
For food and shopping, TAG Resort is near Lolo Nonoy's Food station, Coron Village Bar and Resto, Fika Indulgence, Coron Shopping Building, and Makulit Shop.
2. Completeness! TAG Resort has their own on-site restaurant, cafe, bar, and convenience store, so no need to go out for essentials. They even have their own tours, as mentioned earlier.

|
Proper distancing at the Buntag Restaurant |
|
Mopya is Coron's biggest convenience store, located in the resort's commercial strip. |

3. Spacious! From the lobby to the rooms, to the restaurants and the pool-- the whole TAG Resort is HUGE!
4. Just a small detail, but very helpful is that they use just one Wi-Fi password for the whole property. It made our stay more convenient especially since my work is all online. Perfect for those doing remote work, too.
5. They showcase Filipino Craftsmanship! The lobby is very warm and welcoming, decorated with local artists' furniture and decors. I love businesses that support local!
Here are some of the featured artists:
- Kublai Millan artworks and oil paintings, bakawan-inspired lobby chandelier, and Bantayog ng Tagbanwa Monument
- JUNK NOT! lobby chairs made from recycled plastic food containers and tetra packaging
- Cebu's H&H Furnishing Corporation wicker swings, couches, chaise lounges
- Romblon Marble Craftsmen created their marble countertops and bathroom sinks
- Mandaue Weavers created some of their lobby chairs and furniture
- Pampanga Weavers for the resort's basket ceiling lamps
6. Green Initiative. TAG Resort is proud of their socially responsible practices in order to run their resort in a sustainable and earth-friendly way. Here are some of them:
- Using sustainable ingredients in the kitchen, from local communities and their own organic garden and livestock farm
- Composting and recycling. TAG Resort is aware that there are tons of waste in running an accommodation, so they make sure that they properly discard all their trash by creating compost out of kitchen waste and coffee grounds, and segregating other disposals.
- Encouraging their guests to reuse of towels and sheets, and not change daily to save water and soap
- Using refillable bottles for in-room drinking water, as well as for the shampoo, body wash, etc.
- Use of bamboo straws for their drinks
Looking back at the photos made me miss our vacation in TAG Resort. I badly want my watermelon shake (in cute tiki ceramic mug, no less), and swim in our private pool! I hope it won't take me another 6 years to go back!
Our last night in the resort was spent in Tagay where we enjoyed their own Tag white wine, some pikas and chikas, and a crazyyy fire dance show:
A big thank you to TAG Resort, to Happy Consultants Denise and Dana, and to new and old friends for making this trip so extra! 사랑해!
