Ate Kaka: The Ultimate Food Tester!

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

I love to eat, but being a vegetarian limits my food selections. That's why when I got an invitation to the Ultimate Taste Test @ SODERNO 9.0, I immediately asked my sister Ate Kaka to attend the event for me! Kung may foodie lang sa bahay, siya na yun! She even cooks and bakes!

Ate, the food critic for a day:

The ULTIMATE TASTE TEST VERSION 9.0 was held at Soderno Night Food Market in Molito Commercial Center, corners of Madrigal and Commerce (in front of Alabang Town Center), Alabang:

About the Ultimate Taste Test
From its humble beginnings as a ‘taste test’ among friends and neighbors, the Ultimate Taste Test has become a sold-out event drawing in thousands of foodies eager to try the latest food discoveries.

Many home-based cooks and up-and-coming chefs would send me their dishes and asked if I could review their dishes on my blog. But I just eat all of those food samples!” recounts Anton Diaz, the popular food and travel blogger behind www.OurAwesomePlanet.com.

Instead of eating all those samples, I thought not only of sharing these dishes with my readers but also giving them an opportunity to rate these dishes as well. That was how the Ultimate Taste Test was born.”

The top five winners of the latest Ultimate Taste Test will not only be featured in the www.OurAwesomePlanet.com blog, but they will also be given a free month’s stay in any of the Mercato Centrale-managed food markets which include Soderno in Alabang, Distrito in Makati, Mezza Norte in Quezon City and Mercato Centrale in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

The Feast!
These included innovative and specialty dishes from Margie’s Paella Negra, Frisch’s Liquor Ice Cream, Hizon’s premium flavored sorbets, Nina’s Grill’s fried pork and chicken isaw, Carlo’s Kitchen’s crunchy pork belly, Sober Club’s mocktails, Mama Lout’s Panzarotti, Merry Moo’s bacon chocolate ice cream and more.

Feast your eyes! Here are the food photos from Ate Kaka, infer ha mas maganda pa camera niya sakin hahaha:

 The Food Discoveries

In fact, many of the pioneer vendors of Mercato Centrale – the weekend food market that we organized along with partners RJ and Vanessa Ledesma and Gary and Janice Villanueva – were winners of previous Ultimate Taste Test.” Anton adds. “They include Dulcelin Gourmet specialties, Supreme Brazo, Angus Beef Tapa, Risa Chocolates, and Merry Moo Premium Ice Cream.

The latest edition of the Ultimate Taste Test was recently held at Soderno Food Market in Molito Commercial Center, Alabang much to the delight of Southern-based food enthusiasts.

Each attendee received a ‘passport’ where they rated the food and drinks samples of all the participating food entrepreneurs.

Ate Kaka's comments-- naks food critic na food critic lang! :)

Good luck to all the participants! :)

XANDRA ROCHA x JOCKEY

As a regular user of Jockey® Shapewear, Xandra knows exactly what to look for in a good body shaper. “Make sure it fits you like a second skin!” she advises. “It should be snug, but not constricting. On the contrary, if it’s too loose, then it defeats the purpose of wearing it in the first place.” As for the color, Xandra suggests buying one that blends well with your clothes. “Choose between nude and black,” she adds. “You can wear nude under pretty much any color.”
